Incredible location and the "huts" were amazing.

Pros: The facilities, the location, the rooms.
Cons: The restaurants seemed like they needed more staff and the food could be improved.
Location: We did a 4 hour snorkeling trip and tour around the island in a private boat - best experience ever!
Bora Bora is an amazing place and the Intercontinental is in the best location on the island. The staff and service fell short. The meals are very expensive but the food and service in the restaurants didn't live up to expectations.

beautiful upscale hotel

Pros: Attentive staffs, beautiful location, cleaniess, very spacious rooms
Cons: Check in can speed up a little
Location: We were there to enjoy to resort so we did not go through the trouble of taking a 20 min boat ride each way to town.
It's on the best location on Bora Bora. Staffs were superb in attending to every detail and the needs of every guest. We were switched to this hotel when the one we booked cancelled on us for some reason, so we did not do any research on what this hotel is like. We were placed on the bungalow that faced the dock, which was the worst spot on the premises. So we talked to the manager and he was more than accomodating. We still have to stay at the "not so good" location for 1 night but he upgraded us to a diamond villa the next day which was amazing. (The room is still the same but the view is so much better!) Waking up in the morning seeing the mountain rather than boats going in and out. We would have spent more for this room in the first place if we had known. After all, you spend a fortune getting there. Anyway, we had a great time and highly recommend Intercontinental Thalasso Spa at Bora Bora.

Overwater Bungalow

Pros: The efficient design of the property is astounding. Despite being completely booked, we often felt like we had the entire property to ourselves.
Cons: Certainly not a complaint, as one generally doesn't go to Bora Bora to party, but a few more nightlife events would have been nice.
Location: You really don't need to leave the property to have fun, but taking a jeep tour of the main island is nice for getting a feel for local culture.
Attention to detail is very prevalent at this magnificent property. All amenities are pristine and well maintained, and the staff is attentive and gracious. If you're looking for a once in a lifetime romantic getaway, this is it.

Breakfast was disappointing

Pros: The location was great.
Cons: Did I mention the overall breakfast.
Location: Scuba diving, snorkeling, 4x4 cruise.
Well, the birds like it; especially the bread table. The breakfast could have been so much better. IMO, there was not enough staff to fully service the guests at breakfast. As well, the food selection was not up to the standards of a five star hotel.

Best resort location on the island!

Pros: You can't beat the location. Best views of the island if you ask me.
Cons: Staff was either super nice and helpful or a rude and unclear. A few times it took speaking to several people to get the answer we needed.
Location: The hotel concierge offers lots of activities (for a fee of course) snorkeling, diving, 4x4 jeep tours, helicopter tours, shuttles into Vaitape etc.
We had a lovely time at IC Thalasso. My boyfriend and I went to celebrate my 30th birthday and everything went off without a hitch. We stayed in an overwater bungalow with a view of Mt. Otemanu towards the end of the dock. The water was the perfect depth too, if the tide was out we could stand with water just under our arms. We spent most of our time out on the deck of the bungalow enjoying the view, sun and water. We brought a floaty that was of GREAT use, so much and made it easy to stay in the water for longer periods of time. (I think the resort should have some to check out to guest, LOTS of people asked us where we got it.) The location is perfect—definitely my favorite thing. The accommodations were nice, but are starting to show wear (especially the lounge chairs and towels). We booked an excursion through concierge to go snorkeling with sharks, sting rays and through the coral gardens and it was just fabulous! The driver was hilarious and played his ukulele for us while we were riding around. We also did the Honeymoon Package at the spa which was also great, we spent most of the day using their facilities as well. Lastly, everything is VERY expensive. Think double, if not triple what you're used to in the U.S., but there are lots of ways to save if you spend some time looking up tips online. Overall, we had a great time and hope to visit again!

Dear Guest, Warmest Greetings from Bora Bora, We would like to extend our most sincere Mauru'uru for sharing such a nice feedback about our Resort . We are happy you liked your bungalow. The beauty of turquoise lagoon blends perfectly with the mountains. It is absolutely breathtaking! We are glad to read that you enjoyed your honeymoon package, we cannot disagree with the fact that spa therapists are really gifted in Deep Ocean Spa. We are happy that you had a lovely time doing the shark and ray snorkeling tour! Also, We perfectly understand that some rates may appear higher in Bora Bora compared to USA,but French Polynesia is much appreciated as a secluded & protected chain of paradisiacal islands. This exceptional geographical situation has consequences: taxes are very high, transportation and all imported products are particularly expensive and the Resorts need to impact its operating costs Thank you again, we hope that you will visit us again soon! Hotel greeted us at the airport as soon as we landed, and led us to the water taxi and headed to the hotel seeminglessly. Staff greeted us again at the check-in staging area with spectacular view. Hotel offered variety of activities with reasonable fees, and spa services were excellent! Over-the-water bungalow we stayed was the best ever. Water was crystal clear and beach offered great relaxing activities. Meals were excellent, and there were much more you can ask for a vacation. Must not miss if you plan to visit Bora Bora!

We are happy you liked your bungalow with private access to the lagoon. Outstanding property and staff. A must stay.

Pros: The size of the bungalows are very large and the hotel staff were all outstanding - everyone there worked hard to make sure our visit was pleasant.
Cons: Dinner food portions tended to be smaller than normal. Boat transportation to the main island in BoraBora was free sometimes and other times not free
Location: Scuba Diving, snorkeling, hiking, sun bathing, shopping, etc
I stayed for five nights and I have nothing bad to say. The overwater bungalows are spacious and housekeeping did a great job keeping the room tidy twice during the day. I loved that you could swim off the dock from your room and there is plenty of privacy from one bungalow to another. The bathroom has a large shower a seperate freestanding tub. The hotel staff kept us entertained with sting ray feedings, a coconut show and a typical Tahitian dancing show. I will definitely return. Happy Hour was time to meet other guests and the drinks were very well made.

Dear Henry, Ia Orana from the InterContinental Bora Bora Resort & Thalasso Spa Mauruuru Roa for your comment. We really appreciate that you took some of your own time to give us a feedback. Our bungalows are all designed for the wellness of our guests with some special features: the glass bottom coffee table, the private pontoon to swim into the lagoon, the bath just next to a window to enjoy the beautiful view… and so much more! We are happy you liked your bungalow with private access to the lagoon. As I read, you had the joy to feed the stingrays with our poolboys. It is an activity that our guests love. They take great pleasure to be part of such experience. Happy Hours in our bars are always a great moment. I am thrilled to read that the staff exceeded your expectations during your stay. We are set with open arms while waiting for your return. Guillaume Epinette General Manager
