In need of a revamp
The relais de Margaux is a bit worn out. Rooms are very big but would need a refresh, very disappointing for the price paid. Food was mediocre. Service was good.

Lovely location but in need of some tlc.
The whole hotel looked in need of a bit of repair and a lick of paint. Shower leaked as sealant at base had perished. Room was described as a junior suite with terrace but was just one room with a 2-seater sofa and coffee table (separate bathroom and toilet). So not a suite really. The terrace was good. But it was very clean and tastefully decorated. Staff were absolutely lovely - friendly and helpful. Restaurant was closed and the golf club brasserie menu was very basic so we went elsewhere for dinner. But it served a good breakfast.

Large hotel set in countryside
Large hotel with large rooms. Decor seemed sparse and I think the hotel was more suitable for events. However, the staff and service were good and we enjoyed a nice dinner. My only real criticism was that the room was so cold I could not sleep. It was a cold wet November day and there was no heating. Such a shame as it could have been a pleasant stay.

Nice hotel in good location
Nice hotel just outside the town. 5-minute drive/30 minute walk to the nearest restaurant, which was very good - the hotel’s own restaurant was fully booked. The rooms are spacious but looking a bit tired but the hotel is about to undergo a big refurbishment.

Great location to explore the Bordeaux vineyards
The hotel is in a lovely location, perfect for exploring the Bordeaux vineyards. The rooms are spacious and comfortable but require some modernisation. The staff were very helpful.

Great location, charming and comfortable
The hotel is ideally located to explore the Bordeaux Châteaux. My room was large, comfortable and clean. The pool was very pleasant. The hotel is in need of some modernisation but was very good value for money.

Hotel is nice but need and is under total renovation. It will certainly be great when all is done. Food was very good and the sommelier.was excellent and choosed some very good wines for us. Breakfast was not up to standard to what you expect in such a hotel. As it was 40 degrees the day we stayed the pool was a reason For us to choose this hotel, it was ok but very small. An overall nice stay but we would not pay full price so check for offers.

Good location with great grounds for the dog to run in. We stayed for 2 nights and picked the hotel to play golf but unfortunately when we arrived the golf course had been closed for 9 months and not due to open for another 3! There was no mention of this when we booked with Expedia. Nice large rooms but clearly the amenities let out stay down.

A two night stay
The hotel is away from the village of Margaux, however a reasonable stroll on foot. The hotel grounds are resplendent given its a golf course around it all. The reception staff were welcoming and helpful. The bedrooms clearly need some investment in them as they are dated and tired fittings and doors. The beds were extremely comfortable along with the pillows. The rooms and corridors were clean also. The restaurant was adequate. Trying to be fine dining yet not achieving it other than for the prices charged. Breakfasts were only average too. The bistro was much better and very under used although its only for day time dining.

We had a lovely relaxing stay at this hotel, it's quiet and a little isolated but that's exactly what we wanted . Getting to the hotel is tricky from the airport , a car would be the best , however there is a train station in margaux that is direct from bordeaux and much cheaper than what we paid for a taxi !!!!! The hotel is a little dated but has good facilities and breakfast was excellent, my husband was catered for with his coeliac disease. The staff were very helpful and friendly, if we played golf it looked a beautiful, quiet course but we didn't enquire into how much it would cost. Overall a lovely French retreat

Check-in very efficient with knowledgeable staff. Room very spacious and cosy. For dinner the staff was somprofessional, they made you feel very confortable and welcome. The food was of really goid quality. Breakfast was a little bit hectic, probably because everyone arrive quite late but the staff was certainly not as efficient and welcoming as their colleagues of the previous evening.

Very nice hotel and spa
Lovely large room, nicely furnished. Good bathroom, towels and robes. Very helpful staff. Great pool and spa. Large wine list. Had an excellent late lunch in the Brasserie, which was very good value. The Brasserie staff member was very helpful and the chef cooked for us, even though it was about to close - they went above and beyond for us - not common these days! Had a drink and desert in the bar which was very good.

This is a well situated hotel with some very good facilities. Nice indoor pool, sauna and steam room and the benefit of a nice outdoor pool area. Service is excellent, wifi throughout and ample free parking. Room size was good although they had pushed two beds together to make a double. Aircon was fine but a facelift is required to make this hotel great again. The bathroom looked particularly tired. Note for the English - no kettles available! Overall we enjoyed our stay but as noted there is room for improvement.

Great staff at front desk, not so much in restaurants. I ordered sparkling water and never received it. I also ordered coffee which was never delivered. Sparkling water was on the bill though. Had to notify waiter and it was removed. Wait staff seems off in a different world. This resort needs updating and will undergo renovation in October and that's a good thing. Wi-fi was not existent in rooms.

Bellman was exceptionally helpful. Buffett breakfast was over priced and adequate. Golf course clubhouse cafe was good. Nice outdoor pool. Rooms were older but comfortable.

Quite a disappointing stay. Hotel looks quite run down and barely kept together. The building smells like an old sellar. The so called outdoor swimming pool is a lough for a hotel of that size and its rating , something you would have in your summer house in the country , small and not much looked after, more of a dipping pool rather then swimming . The room itself was nice enough, but then again the smell was of an old dump , highly uncomfortable bed , very soft mattress and as it would in most hotels there were two single beds pushed together, but mattresses were incompatible for a double bed, the ridges were so sharp that when you want to actually sleep together with your partner it was simply impossible as you would have to share a single mattress or sleep on very painful middle part were it was cutting in to your body. The fridge in the room was leaking and the daily cleaning was very basic and forgetful , dirty plate was left in the room for days . The hotel restaurant is nothing but pretentious, probably trying to be Michelin star, but has no idea how to do it. Staff was sweet, however looked like they had no clue what they were doing. Luckily we got this booking via Expedia for a good price, I can not imagine who would pay full prices for it, up to 200 per night!! Definitely not a 4 star stay.

Pleasant Stay
The hotel has its ups and downs, lovely grounds, golf course and spa, rooms are a little tired but baths are updated. Hotel is very spread out with long hallways, not perfect for someone who needs assistance, so I would specify in a reservation if you need a closer room. Things from the restaurant were up and down also, with some great things and others not as good. Has a billiard table, cute small bar with great wine list. Town of Margaux is nearby and lots of wonderful Wine Chateau's dot the countryside !

Peacefull hotel
Initialy when we checked in we werent happy with our room then spoke to hotel who took care of us and change our room. The hotel is located in a big, beatiful land and very peacefull as what we were looking for. Although it is a golf resorts, our 2 kids enjoyed the outdoor and indoor swimming pools. We had great food in the hotel, breakfast, lunch and specially dinner in the fine dining restaurant. We also had time to discover the area which is easy reachable area to the beach, bordeaux and many locations. I highly recommend, we will stay there when we travel again to france. Next time we are planning to play golf too.

Horrible experience.
After returning from the football game at 2h30 am in the morning, staff member forced me to pay up my bill immediately and was extremely rude. I am investigating the matter as I felt like leaving right then. Felt like a criminal when I spent a fortune to stay there. Not good at all.

It's a good size room. Many things right. Furniture and bed a bit too low. Bed is a king but not that soft. Staff and restaurant good. Wifi good. Interesting odor in the corridor leading to the room.
