A short hike through the woods, and you end up at this peaceful spot on the Puget Sound.

At the trailhead, there's a nice park with plenty of grass and some picnic tables. There's also a nice playground for the kids.

On the beach, you can get catch some views of the State Capitol and the Olympic Mountains, hunt for rocks and shells, catch some rays, ...

I recommend heading there at low tide.

“This home was perfect for our stay! We came to visit family in Tacoma and never experienced any traffic issues getting to/from Fox Island. The island is 99.999% residential and so very quiet which we enjoyed. Having access to the shoreline to see the hundreds of beautiful starfish was a daily activity.
