Nice for a simple stay, not much more.

From the description of the hotel it seems as if you'll be having a lavish, hip, engaging experience during your stay, but in reality it wasn't quite like that. The hotel's interior design is very nice but the layout, being that it's a former historic hotel, isn't conducive to mingling with other guests for things like wine down. Unlike many hotels I've stayed at, there were no bowls of fruit or containers of ice water for guests in the lobby area, which would've been appreciated on many occasions! The elevators were mysteriously slow for it being a quiet weekday. I did enjoy how quiet the hotel was during the week. The deluxe king room was spacious with a spacious bathroom, and well-decorated. However, the amenities just weren't there. Little details were missed like there's no place to hang a hand towel near the sink, no shower caps, an old soggy box of unused soap in the shower, no mouthwash, etc. The biggest downside for me was that there were no available outlets near the bed! This is supposed to be an upper-scale room choice too, which makes me worry about the other rooms. But there were no outlets to charge my laptop and phone while in bed. This was especially inconvenient for my medical devices. I had to unplug the phone and reach behind the headboard to get a plug free. The only plug was in a lamp on the desk or the bathroom sink. Not a really smart design. It's as simple as buying lamps or bedside tables with outlets in them, like every other hotel!

Greetings from Boston! It was a pleasure to welcome you to the Back Bay and we thank you for sharing your review. While we are thrilled that you enjoyed our innovative design and vibrant location, though we regret if our lobby touches, such as the morning coffee and Power Hour, afternoon hot coco, evening Wine Hour and our weekly Trivia Night were not quite your style and we appreciate your added comments regarding the details of your room. Once more, it was a pleasure to host you and we hope that you might join us again should your travels bring you back to our area.
