El hotel perfecto para ir de trabajo.Posted Sep 19, 2015

Pros: Staff was excellent
We were taken care of from the get go. The hotel is with in easy walking distance of many shopping and tourist sites; harbour, aquarium, Faneuil Hall, Quincy Market, Boston Common & Public Gardens, Cheers Bar; Copley Place, Prudential Centre, Macy's and many more along Newbury street

Just what the doctor ordered!!Posted Sep 15, 2015
Pros: See comments above especially about the hotel staff!
Cons: See comment about lighting in the room.
Location: See above concerning the proximity to the railway station - add to that it is a short walk to the New England Aquarium and the Boston Tea Party Ships.
We chose the Intercontinental as we had stayed in similar hotels in Europe. It lived up to our expectations and in some ways exceeded them. Its central situation made it ideal for visiting all parts of the city of Boston - it is a two minute walk to one of the main stations. We felt that perhaps it greatest attribute, however, was the staff and especially those at the Concierge desk who were universally pleasant and efficient. They even acquired an online edition of Aberdeen's local newspaper for us! Their advice was always very willingly given and proved very reliable. The room was large and as expected the bathroom was quite the last word in luxury with everything you might possibly need or want. A small criticism was that the lighting was not great. The room looked out onto an office building which meant that the curtains had to be kept closed and so little natural light got in and the lamps in the room were only adequate in these circumstances. The Breakfast part of our deal was very good and the choice was wide and varied with the emphasis being on "healthy" options. Here again the staff in the dining room were attentive and efficient as well as pleasant in their manner.

Excellent hotel right on the water frontPosted Sep 1, 2015
Cons: Nothing - it was lovely
Location: Boston is a 'walking city' - everything is within walking distance Less fit? -everything is a short ride away on T (the underground)
Stayed in Boston for 2 nights at the end of a New England holiday - and what a brilliant end it was!! this hotel was beautiful - elegant without being 'stuffy'. The staff were efficient and helpful - and it was nice to feel that we could dress casually without feeling uncomfortable (some hotels seem to expect their guests to dress up even if they are sight seeing all day!!) - we always felt welcome!!! The room was well appointed and the bed was extremely comfortable!! We were even able to get a water taxi from right outside the hotel to the airport at the end of our stay - so much easier than the usual journey by car!!

Close to many attractions. Walking distance to the North end and several parks and attractions. Beautiful, clean area of the city. Felt very safe walking around with my family at night.

Excellent Hotel close to many attractionsPosted Aug 29, 2015
Pros: Location, Pool, Club Lounge, Staff
Location: Freedom Trail, Boston Common, Boston Tea Party Museum, Aquarium, Water Taxi, Rapid Transit station, South Station.
The location of the hotel was close to everything! Most everything we wanted to see are within walking distance, or a short ride on the Rapid Transit or Water Taxi! Hotel staff was curtious. The Concierges were very helpful. It is also a great hotel for families travelling with children. The pool was great, so is the Club Lounge!

Pros: Location was perfect for us, the site of the Boston Tea Party is just behind the hotel, trolly stop was a couple of blocks away, shopping nearby etc.
Cons: I think you should be made aware of the Fire/Ambulance Station across the Street from the Hotel, they are very loud sirens.
Location: Backs onto the river but only a short walk from the town centre, river tours, bus tours, ferry to the airport, plus everything Boston has to offer.
I would have given this Hotel a 5 star rating and this report should not put anyone off staying at the Intercontinental. Because it was a very special occasion (50th wedding anniversary) our stay was marred by one miserable individual serving in the Restaurant on our big day, we could not wait to get out as he marred our whole evening, we stayed six nights and dined out after that evening. The rest of the staff were like gold dust, they were brilliant. In our particular case you cannot turn the clock back, the evening was ruined, we have now moved on. The only other gripe was the noise of Ambulance/Fire Brigade sirens throughout the night as our room was directly opposite there combined Station, I am sure if you get a room on the opposite side facing the river it would be very quiet. If it is your first time at this Hotel, you will find it very easy to get from Logan airport free on the Silver Line bus to South Station and then a 500 yard walk, going back there is a charge of $2.64 per person. We travelled from Ireland to Boston at great expense as we are senior citizens, so you can see why we were not too happy about this situation, on any other day this would not have been so traumatic
