Old-school charm in a central location
Posted Jan 9, 2017 on Hotels
Centrally located in Boston's Back Bay neighborhood, the Newbury Guest House offers a charming and romantic alternative to the big hotels in its vicinity. The guest house is set in a century-old building, with staircases that creak appropriately and a welcoming lounge area in front of the reception desk. The rooms are spacious and up-to-date, with a fireplace and mantel as well as a flat-screen tv and strong wireless connection in the one where I stayed. The charms of the building echo the charms of the neighborhood. Newbury Street is itself a prime shopping area, but Copley Square, the Public Garden, Chinatown, the Esplanade, and much else are all within reach with a comfortable walk.
