Nice Hotel w WaterViews /Food and Beverage LackingPosted Aug 25, 2015
Pros: Style. Rooms are contemporary. Front desk staff. Wine and cheese in lobby at checkin.
Cons: Valet. Room service prices in plastic containers. Food and Beverage department overall.
Location: Great location for Cambridge and Boston business. Shopping in walking distance.
We have stayed there before. Nice staff, great check-in experience. Vallet guys spend more time with opening the driver's door with their hands out than making an effort to open female passengers door. Room service for breakfast was a rip off. $13 for yogurt and fruit, comes in plastic cup just like downstairs that they sell for $4. Overall the hotel is very nice. I would stay there again for business but eat elsewhere. The casual restaurant was very good last visit but has seemed to go down hill. Food quality just doesn't match pricing. Food was cold...etc.

OK hotel near major sites in BostonPosted Aug 25, 2015
Pros: location is nice and next to a mall so running to CVS and getting breakfast at starbucks was a snap - also, located on the water.
Cons: more knowledgeable staff -
The rooms are OK - we stayed in a double room suite. thermostat didn't seem to work that well as the AC never turned off - bathroom is pleasant but not 4 star quality at all. HOtel staff that greet you a great - cookies and water in the afternoon a plus. The problem I had were with the bartender in one of the hotel restaurants, who couldn't be bothered with our drink order, and a concierge, who when asked about great seafood restaurants in boston, recommended several chain restaurants which I can get in NY - seriously? either way, we went with YELP and tried Oceanaire - awesome restaurant and would recommend it to anyone. small pool and gym area.

Newer Hotel with Nice Cambridge LocationPosted Aug 25, 2015
Pros: It was clean and new. It was also well located and convenient to colleges there.
Cons: Routine maintenance could have been a little better. One of the bulbs in the bed reading lamp was out and the holder for the shower nozzle was loose.
Location: The location was close to MIT and Harvard and not that far from th Freedom Trail.
The Royal Sonesta in Cambridge is a fairly new hotel with a modern decor and modern rooms. It is close enough to Harvard and MIT to be convenient to either location. The staff was friendly and helpful and the rate was very competitive. I would stay there again when I return to visit my daughter at college.

I'll never stay at a Royal Sonesta againPosted Aug 24, 2015
Cons: More staff. Better trained staff
Location: No comment.
Very poor price/performance. Four star price and one star performance. Poorly trained staff. Totally inadequate staff to handle arrival and check in. Very small room with no space for anything. Water ran under shower door onto bathroom floor.

great hotel in cambridgePosted Aug 21, 2015
Friendly staff, got upgraded to the Porter Suite on the 9th floor; highly recommend. Excellent view of the Bay and there is a great running/biking trail just behind the hotel that runs along the water. It looked like they even have bikes you could rent!

We enjoyed my stayPosted Aug 16, 2015
I have stayed in other hotels and resorts and so far the Royal Sonesta has been the best. The staff gets a 10, they are all professional, courteous and friendly. They went out of their way to accommodate us. The food was amazing. The view of the river and the location perfect. I slept better than at home. My son loved the staff and one of the ladies even showed him how to whistle to call a taxi. My Mom was content and the lady is super picky. She even went out by herself; she was comfortable. Thanks to everyone for taking care of us. We will definitely return again.

Pros: Location and prices
Cons: Shuttle to and from Logan
Location: Shopping mall across the street, MIT and Harvard close by, walk across the bridge and you are in Boston, Bunker Hill, loved the location!
Convenient location, fair prices, nice hotel restaurants with good food, very helpful staff, walking distance to transportation and various points of interest. I would definitely recommend it to other travelers.

Great hotel in an ideal locationPosted Aug 10, 2015
Stayed here with my wife and son for a getaway family weekend. The hotel was conveniently located within walking distance to a T station for easy and quick access to all parts of Boston. it is also located along the Charles river where we enjoyed a nice morning run. The only negative was limited parking. We chose to save on the $38 a day and street park on the south side of the hotel which was tricky to get. They also charged us for the two bottles of water which they provide in the room which was a bit much. All in all a great hotel to stay in Boston. I would definitely stay here again.
