Cons: In room tea making facilities.
Fantastic position especially if you have a room overlooking the park - the view is wonderful. Everything is on your doorstep, subway, Freedom Trail, boutique shopping.

Good choice for being in the middle of it all.Posted Oct 9, 2015
Very nice hotel. The restaurant and cafe are over priced for the quality. They think very highly of the food but it's not worth the cost. The location is fantastic and right in the middle of the tourist district.

DisappointingPosted Oct 6, 2015
Pros: People working there were nice and professional
Cons: Refurbish the rooms
For an executive suite, carpets were soiled and coming up in places. View from every window was that of another neighbor. Toilet leaked of cess pool backup from time to time and had to keep bathroom door closed to avoid smell. The rooms were nice size but very old. Only 1 of 3 room heater was working. Other 2 heater actually made the room colder.

Only problem was some confusion over where my luggage would be at checkout. I'd asked to have it put in my vehicle while we walk around the city but they kept it at the front desk. Seems petty but I called for my vehicle and waited a good while for that and were further delayed while tracking down our luggage that we thought would be in our vehicle.

Beautiful hotel in a wonderful location.Posted Oct 1, 2015
Pros: Everything - can't complain about anything!
This hotel couldn't be in a more central location. Right across from a beautiful park and the subway is 1 block down the street. We could walk from the hotel through the Boston Commons right down to the waterfront. The people at the hotel were very helpful with directions and suggestions. Very close to some great eateries as well. Our hotel room faced the park and it was extremely quiet.

Great Hotel and especially staff.Posted Sep 30, 2015
Pros: Every member of staff was not only courteous but genuine in their dealings with us. Rare in this day,
Cons: The 'Free' WiFi is poor (narrow bandwidth) so had to pay $12 per day. Strange to charge for this given the Hotel status and minimal income derived
Location: If you know Boston this hotel is very central (our room looked out onto the Public Gardens and Boston Common). Restaurant requires jackets!
Great stay and wonderful service from everyone at the Hotel. Central for everything (Boston is a very walkable City). WiFi issues were quickly resolved by the IT providers.

They ran out of bedroom slippers!!!Posted Sep 30, 2015
Pros: location is great, right across from the park
Location: shopping, and the historical area is not far away.
I called downstairs since there were no slippers in our room and after a long flight we wanted to relax. It was difficult to believe that they did not have any slippers anywhere in the facility. Housekeeping put me through without telling me to the night manager who said he would make a geste for the inconvenience. All I wanted was a pair of slippers to avoid walking on the carpet with barefeet. No geste was made and we were ignored for any inconvenience. Not what I would expect from a five star hotel!!!!

Life is good in BostonPosted Sep 29, 2015
It was such a great location. We could walk to everything. And being right next to the park made it just beautiful. The hotel itself was very clean, and service was great.

First Class HotelPosted Sep 28, 2015
Pros: Location related to attractions, near subway stop, view of Public Gardens.
Cons: Coffee maker in rooms
This hotel may not be classified as 5-stars by the rating experts but our recent stay was most certainly first class.

Nice hotel - great central locationPosted Sep 28, 2015
Pros: Locatin was perfect!
Location: Very convenient to Newbury Street, Public Garden and the Back Bay. Easy walking to anywhere you might want to go.
The Taj is a lovely hotel (former Ritz Carlton). The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was very comfortable, however the batheroom was too small. It does need to be freshened up a bit, but other than that is was a very nice stay.
