Loved it!

Posted Sep 1, 2015
Pros: Amenities, luxurious feel, modern rooms, large bathroom, mini bar
Cons: Allow free wifi for more than 2 devices per room
Location: Go to Tatte, the best breakfast ever, visit the public park, and Boylston street for restaurants & shopping
Loved the hotel, the location is beautiful in a very refined area with authentic shops and gourmet places. It is 10 minutes away from Boston Common & the beautiful public park & 15 minutes away from Boylston street which is full of shops & restaurants (walking distance). The hotel itself has a cool bar & nice restaurants. On the weekends it gets really loud but you won't hear anything in the rooms. Loved the Molton Brown toiletries, the Frette bathrobe, and the extensive mini bar. There was no view from our room, we overlooked a hospital but didn't mind as we were not planning on staying in. The staff were friendly, and the hot el truly is luxurious.

Very conveniently located in Boston

Posted Sep 1, 2015
Pros: The unique character and the convenient location.
Cons: The directions to the hotel, updated for construction diversions.
Location: Lots of sights and attractions nearby. A very nice cycling/running trail system along the river nearby. Easy subway access to see Harvard and MIT.
My family of four stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. The hotel is very near the financial district and the subway line which makes walking to or taking the transit to your destination very convenient. The owners did a very nice job of renovating the building which used to be a jail. It’s a very cool and unique hotel. The staff were very nice and helpful. The Italian restaurant was also very good. The only blemish was that it took a while for the valet/porter to receive us when we arrived very late at night. And this was after struggling to find the hotel which is not that easy with all the construction, one way streets and complex intersections in the city.

The lobby of the Liberty Hotel is magnificent with beautiful brick, soaring ceilings, and pretty windows, and the complimentary Champagne served at check-in is a nice touch. The hotel is also in a convenient location for tourists like me, directly across from the subway and within walking distance to Beacon Hill restaurants, Boston Common, and the state house. Easy subway ride to Harvard, JKF Presidential Library, Fenway Park, and other popular sites. Lots of cabs and Uber cars around, too. Several little things bothered me about my particular room (818): -- the view out of the windows: the side of a medical building and an alleyway -- small shower relative to otherwise generous bathroom size -- affixed shampoo dispenser pump did not work properly -- no coffee maker -- my room key card deactivated on two different days, causing me to wait in lobby lines for replacements -- clock in the room was broken (displayed the same time throughout my stay) The worst annoyance was the lack of a "do not disturb" door hanger, which meant housekeeping was persistent/bothersome each morning. This may be ok for business travelers, but not so much for leisure travelers who don't want to be out the door by 8 a.m. These were not major problems overall but not what I would expect given the high prices charged at this property. One last note -- this hotel allows animals inside. Saw a number of dogs in the lobby during my stay. If you are a pet lover, you will likely enjoy this unique aspect.

Was disappointed that we could not get dinner reservations at Scampi restaurant. We went to dinner elsewhere on the way back (8pm) we looked in and saw a lot of empty tables ???

Blown away!

From the first second we walked in and being offered complimentary champagne, my partner and I felt pampered and special. The hotel had a variety of exceptional facilities included in the cost of staying; including bicycles, kayaks and a hotel car service. I would highly recommend this hotel to everyone.

Good needs more attention to be great

Posted Aug 24, 2015
Pros: Situation
Cons: Staff attention to providing service, some were good others very average
Nice hotel, well situated, clean and fair service but staff often let you wait beofre giving attention. With a little more guidance and training for the staff could be a wonderful hotel. Poor feedback when calling to enquire about an item we had left in the room. Took 4 days and 5 calls to get a response to find the missing jacket, which they had.

Nice hotel but lots of spirit activity.

Posted Aug 23, 2015
Pros: Concierge very helpful and general staff.
Cons: The rudeness of staff in the Alibi restaurant. They either reserve tables or allow guests who are spending good money to enjoy their evening.
Location: Some good walks, but the Freedom Trail is a long walk - worth doing but take plenty of water. Tati cafe is a lovely place for breakfast.
The main hotel staff were lovely and helpful but the staff in the restaurant in the Alibi were very rude and spoiled our evening. I wouldn't recommend going there! It took a while when requesting tea maker for the room and had to be asked again. It felt a little like once you had checked in that was it! All that said it was worth a stay, too much spirit activity - things moving in the room and bathroom to sleep very well

Thank you for your constructive feedback on your recent stay at The Liberty. It’s wonderful to hear the hotel staff provided great service, but I am sorry that you encountered unfriendly service at our lounge Alibi – this is certainly not our standard and this situation will be addressed. We improve through feedback, so we thank you again for sharing your comments and hope you will return again in the future!

Very nice and very convenient.

Location: great
We enjoyed our stay. It was nice to live in a neighborhood instead of where all the hotels are lined up at Copley. Great restaurants close by and the ones in the hotel were also good. Walking distance to anywhere. We walked at least 6 miles a day. Great fun great trip. The place fills up with young people from Thurs to Sun from busines and the neighborhood. Must be a go to place for locals.
