Good proximity to the beach and town centre

Posted Oct 13, 2017
Pros: It's proximity to where I needed to be for the start/finish of the marathon
Cons: the decor of the rooms
Location: Close to the beach and a walking distance to the town centre. Lots of restaurants to choose from to eat and nice cafes to stroll to for breakfast
Hotel was clean but the decor was a bit dated for my liking. Furniture and other furnishings looked like they could do with a refresh. My room was positioned close to the lift and staircase so lots of noisy traffic due to very squeaky floors. Had earplugs which fixed the problem. I was able to use the fitness centre after my marathon to shower and change which was a nice touch. The staff on reception were very friendly and efficient with check in/check out process.

Hotel from hell

Posted Sep 18, 2017
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Location is great, please update it
Location: Beach
For the price we paid, it was awful. It was suppose to be for my birthday. The hotel is so dated and dirty Our bedding had black marks. The bathroom was dirty, hot water was on and off. My partner and I could not wait to get out of there. The mattress had a dip in the middle. Most uncomfortable

Good location

Lovely room only gripe was that there was a large hot pipe running through the room making it very warm during the night but there was a fan to help keep us cooler

Bournemouth experience

Posted Aug 20, 2017
Room was clean, staff very helpful and friendly. okay for a 3 star. However the room and hallway was extremely hot, we had the window open the whole time. There was parking but was always very full when we went out and came back but having said that we always got the one of the last spaces. We did enjoy the hotel

Pros: It's near the beach and the hotel is very quiet
Cons: Price of breakfast is very expensive Hotel needs urgent refurbishment
The hotel needs refurbishment, as it is very old. The mattress was very uncomfortable and the shower holder of room 214 was broken. Also the room was extremely hot for this time of the year. The swimming pool was not heated at all. We tried to check in at 1:00pm, but the lady at the reception was a bit rude and said straight away it was impossible to do it earlier.

Dear Marcia Thank you for taking the time to comment on your stay. It is with regret and I am sorry we were unable to offer a more positive experience. With breakfast it can be booked in advance which is the most cost effective way (and there is a great deal included in the price). The bedroom we reserved for you has been refurbished only recently, so I am little confused how it is very old. We guarantee our bedrooms to be ready at 2pm, to allow our Housekeeping Supervisors to check the bedrooms. We do welcome guests to park their car and use the facilities beforehand. Kind regards Daniel Associate Director

Excellent location, lovely hotel

Posted Jul 29, 2017
Pros: Pretty much everything.
Cons: The bar area (as above) - bring back the sofas!
Location: Very easy walk to beach, town and back, although uphill back, so very good exercise! Lots of things to do in and around Bournemouth.
This hotel has always been a favourite of mine (for over 20 years!) bringing my children of all ages for a few days in the summer holidays to explore and enjoy Bournemouth. This stay was no exception, with my youngest (now 14). The recent refurbishment has improved the hotel immensely, although my only comment would be to bring back the sofas in the bar area, which has now become a little stark and cafe like rather than a place to chill in the evenings. With children, even teens, it was very pleasant to be able to have a comfortable place for a drink and maybe watch the football (for the boys). This time, we did not stay in the bar long as there was nowhere to relax really (the side lounge was too out of the way). Other than that - all very good. The pool has always been such a bonus for me - in case of inclement weather.

Dear Helen Thank you so much for your recent review and for visiting us again. I am pleased to hear you had a positive experience with us; thank you for your comments about the sofas. Our thought process was to create more space in the garden lounge, but we have several sofas available to put in there. It would be a pleasure to welcome you again in the future.
