Good food in Boulton on the WaterPosted Mar 28, 2015
Stayed 26th of March 2015. Good location in the town. Good food for the evening meal which was from a menu of 2 items for 9.99. I had fish and chips which the best I have had for many years. My wife had rump steak but had to pay an extra premium of £2. But again excellent value. The only reservation I have is the rooms in the Old Manse Cottage which entailed coming out of the hotel onto the road and a short walk. There is quite a steep staircase to the bedrooms and the room my friends had, had a beam across the ceiling which could be very painful if you forgot to duck. Staff very friendly. Would stay again if we were in the area.

What a disgrace.Posted Mar 20, 2015 on Hotels
We booked a superior double suite which was the best they had. The condition of the room and the ensuite bathroom was disgusting. The window was broken and the metal cover of the radiator was hanging off. The bathroom was mouldy and the ceiling had a large damp patch. The pedestal for the basin was coming away from the basin and the shower pole was falling out of the wall and the radiator next to the toilet was filthy. The overall experience was marred by the disappointment of having to return to such a shoddy room. Greene King and Old English Inns should be ashamed of themselves.

Mediocre hotel for quite high pricePosted Mar 12, 2015
The stay at the Old Manse was fine but nothing special. Our bed was pretty uncomfortable but the room was in an OK state, a silly placed shelf in the bathroom though! Breakfast was ok but why they insist on you waiting to be seated baffles me as we spent 10 minutes waiting whilst lots of empty tables were available!

Great location hotelPosted Mar 2, 2015 on Hotels
Great location hotel in the centre of the village. This is an old building so expect creaky floors. Bed was comfortable. Plenty of choice for breakfast but the cooked breakfast was not great

NICE HOTELPosted Feb 25, 2015
Pros: THE VIEW FROM THE ROOM AND LOCATION
Cons: STAFFING LEVELS
DUVET COVER ON BED NOT CLEAN-STAINED. BREAKFAST VERY COLD -LEFT LYING AROUND BEFORE BEING SERVED. INSUFFICIENT STAFF TO MANAGE BAR-ATE AND DRANK AT A PUB IN VILLAGE-YOU LOST OUR CUSTOM. NOT THE FAULT OF STAFF WHO WERE FRIENDLY.

the room is small but comfortable and clean. Surrounding area was quite. The area is beautiful and peaceful. The person attended at the reception is helpful and friendly. The check in was fast.
