A cozy cottage with big personality

Adults-only cottage in St. Thomas
Do you prefer an authentic travel experience, away from the touristy spots? Well, tucked away at the end of a semi-private road, deep in the North side, is Pineapple Cove. Upon arrival you will find a quaint cottage with a turquoise door and red roof, surrounded by lush tropical fauna. If you’re looking for a quiet, restorative place that’s less than 15 minutes to all the activities and beaches the North side offers, Pineapple Cove is the only choice.

There’s a reason why most locals eventually call the North side home, it’s the jewel of St. Thomas. The views are unbeatable, the flora and fauna look like they’ve been given miracle grow, the beaches aren’t crowded and it’s so quiet you can hear the waves crashing.
You are:
- 10 minutes away from Hull Bay, a local’s favorite beach
- Magen’s Bay, known as St. Thomas’s most beautiful beach, is about 15 - 20 minutes away
For the more adventurous, you are:
- 10 minutes away from zip-lining and the Mermaid’s Chair hike.
- French Town, a great place for restaurants, is just a ten-minute drive down the hill

There are two homes on the property, the cottage and a larger, two-story house. The property manager lives in the lower level of the main house. She is available to give recommendations on restaurants, beaches, charter companies and to answer any questions you might have about the island. There is a washer and dryer available to use. It’s located in the storage room of the larger house. You must leave the cottage, walk down the driveway and a set of stairs to access it.

The most important thing to note about St. Thomas is that there are only two ways to get around, taxi or rental car. Taxis can be notoriously difficult to deal with and very expensive. You can get an idea of taxi rates by googling "Taxi rates St. Thomas." Keep in mind that price is each way and there are additional charges for each piece of luggage. Also, there are no addresses on St. Thomas, so you will have to describe to them how to find the property, which will be pretty hard to do as a visitor.

I always recommend renting a car. A cheap, compact car will work perfectly. Renting a car will give you freedom to see the island on your terms. You can go where you want, when you want. Google Maps and Waze work really well on St. Thomas. If you'd like recommendations on rental car places once you've booked, just ask!
Air-conditioned accommodations at this cottage offer washers/dryers and coffee/tea makers. Rooms open to patios. Guests can make use of the in-room refrigerators and microwaves.

Bathrooms include showers and hair dryers. Smart televisions are featured in guestrooms.

The recreational activities listed below are available either on site or nearby; fees may apply.

Pineapple Cove exceeded our expectations!
The cottage was exactly like it was described in the listing. The cottage is well maintained, clean and decorated nicely. The layout is perfect which includes an amazing deck and spectacular view! It was super easy to find using Google Maps. Like mentioned in the listing, you should definitely rent a car as most areas are a 15-30 minute drive. We enjoyed exploring the island and never minded the drive. Meghan was very responsive when we contacted her a few times. She offered great suggestions for rental cars, restaurants and beaches. She also had a great suggestion for a company that provided extra beach gear who dropped it off right at the place. We would definitely stay at Pineapple Cove again on our next trip to St. Thomas!

Private slice of paradise!
My husband and I live in the quiet countryside of North Georgia. This bungalow was the perfect place for us to enjoy the beauty and activities that we like on St. Thomas. This location is perfect if you like being away from the action of the city. The views from the expansive deck were ever changing. We saw lovely birds and could even hear the waves breaking on Caret Bay below us. You must rent a car to fully enjoy this location. Our driving adventures were as exciting as a ride at Six Flags given the nature of the roads, construction maintenance and terrain. Everything from restaurants, to grocery stores, to snorkeling outings were never more than 15-30 minutes away. We highly recommend the Catamaran trip to Little Buck Island and the speed boat snorkel trip to St. John. Joining other groups from the resorts in town worked well for us. We did not venture out after dark due to our reservations about the hilly and curvy roads. The driveway has been patched per a previous guest experience. I would recommend the Moe's Fresh Market at Havensight rather than the one in Charlotte Amelia due to parking availability. We cooked most of our meals in the kitchen as it has a great stove and plenty of prep space. There were spices and sundry cooking items left from previous visitors that we put to good use. The Coque Frogs can be a bit loud but added to the experience. A white noise machine is there to help mitigate the noise if it is bothersome, we never needed to use it. Our host was wonderfully attentive in answering questions prior to our arrival and even found a way for us to watch our Braves win the World Series without having to go out and go to a Sports Bar. The television is set up for Smart Casting only and she found a work around for us since we had no provider that would allow us to watch the games. I would recommend this place and would love to go back!

A wonderful vacation
Very well kept, well supplied with necessities needed for cooking. View was very nice. It was very enjoyable sitting on the deck listening to the waves roll in. Did have some difficulty finding the place when we first arrived

Beautiful views and house, expect to drive
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. It has a great kitchen and amazing patio. We could live on the patio! The view is wonderful and surrounded by nature, you get all the sounds. A few things to note, the place is smaller than it looks in the photos so be prepared to be cozy if there’s more than 2 people. While the location is spectacular for the seclusion and views (think honeymoon) it’s a 30min drive to the popular side of the island, and the drive isn’t easy. Extremely tight and hilly roads with crazy potholes and every driving obstacle you could think of. The road to get out onto the paved roads by the property has two huge potholes that we got a flat in our rental car. Definitely hope they fix that! If you don’t mind the drive and want to be alone, this is perfect! We enjoyed our game nights here but always tried to make it back before dark. So even if you wanted to just go out one night you’d need to prepare. And if you’re staying here, you MUST eat at 13. It’s only 5 minutes away and I have dreams about that meal, soooo good. Meghan is an incredible property manager. SO easy to work with. I think the spot would be ideal for honeymooners.

Perfect Getaway
The place was in an amazing area, very secluded and quiet. The owners were always very quick to respond to any questions. The binder with all the information made it easy to plan the days and I would definitely come back to this home.
