Delicious food, dirty room.

Pros: The food was fabulous and the dining room staff were lovely.
Cons: Cleanliness of the room. Really not good enough for this calibre hotel. And the temperature of the jacuzzi needs to be lowered.
Location: It's a stone's throw from Brands Hatch, which is great if you're an F1 lover but noisy if you're not. Lovely woods behind.
The food was delicious. We had one evening meal and 3 breakfasts and I couldn't fault any of them. They were superb and the waiting staff were also very friendly and efficient. However, the spa was mediocre. The pool was short - it took me 3 strokes to reach the end, and was full when there were more than 3 people in it. It also had no windows so felt very enclosed. The jacuzzi was way too hot - I mean health and safety too hot. I told the staff on the 1st and 2nd day of our stay but was told it was 37 - 38. We have a hot tub at home so I know what 37 - 38 degrees feels like and this was way over 40 degrees. It was impossible to stay in for longer than about 5 minutes. On the last day, it was slightly lower but still on the hot side. The steam room and sauna were lovely. We were told that the spa reception had maps of the local bluebell woods but, when my husband asked for one, he was told it was no use and we'd be better on our own. Two hours later we had to find a dog walker to lead us back to the hotel! Our room looked lovely at first sight but the views at the back were of air conditioning units and an industrial roof line And, when we were leaving, I lost some earrings so we moved the furniture to look for them and under the bed was part of an Easter egg (it was 3 weeks since Easter) and some other sweets and, behind the settee was a piece of dried up soap. This suggested that the room had not been properly cleaned for several weeks. We got £60 off the bill for this.

Good hotel in a lovely setting

Pros: Location and setting
Cons: It seems reception is regularly unmanned as they have a bell to press when no one is present.
Location: We walked the Greensand way and used this as a base for the first night. If you like walking well worth doing some of it for the views
Had to find receptionist when I first arrived. But once this was resolved chechin was fine. Food and Wine were good and priced as you would expect from a hotel. Room and ensuite clean and comfortable. Staff were efficient and pleasant and the price was reasonable for accomodation and breakfast.

Not so good, we ordered coffee, it arrived two teas, not enough waiters or waitresses, in the reception the receptionist was too busy to her boyfriend, she left us waiting for at least 5 minutes. And the we booked for our dinner and chicken breast wasn't real chicken, is like eating a rubber, breakfast wasn't good either we asked to turn our egg over and our was burnt and our toast, it is a complete waste of money.

The Hotel is set in lovely grounds and has great leasure and spa facilities. However the decor is a little tired.

The hotel is more geared up for functions than guest's staying in general, food excellent staff friendly. We did have a few issues with the room but unfortunately the offer of changing rooms came to late, personal we won't be booking again it didn't compare at all with our other stays at handpicked hotels which was unfortunate

Lovely hotel and staff

Had a lovely stay, the spa was so relaxing, room was cleaned to a high standard and very comfortable and the staff were just brilliant. My only negative comment would be that the shower head needed attention as water didn't come out of all holes but as we were only there one night it was OK. I would recommend this hotel and will definitely return.

The room was tiny despite being an executive double. It was impossible to shower properly as the shower head was so low and fitted and the bath was tiny. The Room was so hot as was the whole vote so very uncomfortable nights sleep. Waited over 10 minutes to be seated for our dinner reservation. Stains on the bedding and dressing gowns. Despite this the spa itself was very enjoyable.

Staff amazing but over worked too

I was in a wheelchair and the staff Leah Shannon and Simon ran around taking care of me I felt very special But there was too much for them to do where was all the staff? You had to wait ages for your food too And why couidnt they provide me with a disability chair in the bath? I couldn't wash for 3 days But I was treated to a lovely meal The staff were courteous and totally over worked they deserve to be commended Thank you
