Pleasant staff but horrible hotel room.

Lovely and pleasant staff with good facilities, however our room on the 4th floor was absolutely appalling. Would not recommend to a friend or an enemy. Room nothing like the pictures online, not even close - very disappointed!!!

Escher Print

Posted Sep 22, 2017
It's at the beach.... Hotel building is actually three or four buildings put together. The elevators are tiny and old. Trying to walk up the stairs from the lobby is really confusing....it's like being in an Escher print. Plumbing was noisy....hot water was hard to find. The staff is great....very friendly and ready to help.

Great location on sea front

Great location. Hotel was good but a bit dated in places. Breakfast was pricey, £15 each. Staff were really helpful and we enjoyed our stay .

Sleep Less in Brighton

Posted Sep 11, 2017
Pros: The location was nice and central to restaurants and attractions.
Cons: Sound proofing the rooms or have someone in the street redirecting the idiots away.
The noise from the side street was ridiculous. From 11 pm until 4 am. Screaming fighting breaking glass. The windows open or closed it didn't matter. We came to Brighton to get over jet lag not to be woken up every hour by drunk yahoos.

Hotel is in excellent location

Posted Sep 9, 2017
Pros: The staff were lovely Convenient position Traditional charm
Cons: Shower - difficult to adjust. Slightly smell of urine in the bathroom ( towels & everything looked clean) Sink - plug hole partly blocked.
Location: Lots of good restaurants, pubs and cafe around Beautiful beach front lined with magnificent buildings. Royal Pavillion nearby. Looks out of place.
We enjoyed three nights at the Old Ship Hotel. It is very convenient located on the beach front and near shops, restaurants and bars. The hotel has got traditional charm and comfort. Some places could do with a lick of paint and renewal of plumbing. In the bedroom, too many cushions but although unused appreciated hairdryer and iron. Staff were very helpful, polite and friendly.

The hotel is in need of a renovation. The furniture and fixtures were worn out and the bed sagged. Only one modern plug in the room (others were completed different). Staff was friendly. The location is great. Brighton is a lovely town.

Cons: Perhaps the lift could be updated.
Very enjoyable and comfortable. I really don't want to add any more as it was a private business trip.

Couldn't fault the staff

Posted Sep 5, 2017
We we paid for an upgrade of a Seaview which was not worth the extra money as we had a very small window that was very dirty. The room was also smaller than a room we had in this hotel before with no Seaview.
