Nice hotel in good position for all of the ammenit

Pros: Convenience to good shopping, restaurants and easy access to river transport.
Cons: Bar meals area
Location: Good restaurants and transport
Nice 4 day break with plenty to do and a good hotel to come back to after a full days sight seeing

Great hotel, opulent with excellent views and staf

Great hotel, excellent quality, great views, clean, well run, good staff. Just beware that the parking is around fifty dollars a day for valet parking. In the description this is just noted as paid parking. That can add up.

Good location, Balance is based on our experience

Pros: Location and generous room and bathroom facilities
Cons: Pool Facilities Breakfast service Educate Bar staff on mixing cocktails as they are expensive! Improve coffee - Educate / employ Barista skills
Location: Close to central shopping area, ferry and dockside restaurants. Botanical Gardens on the door step
Chose the Regency style hotel and location as we were staying 5 nights - that part was perfect!! Phoned in advance to check availability of feather pillow or to bring my own. Advised available but it took two days and 3 requests to get! Breakfast was appalling... pancakes dried out and stuck to bottom of serving dish, Omelettes were like pancakes... dry and thin, coffee awful and so the story goes.... after second day chose to eat out of the Hotel. Swimming pool photo misleading to me as what we saw appeared to be an infinity pool .. instead smaller inner city pool edged up against the hotel building. Very limited loungers and only 5 umbrellas despite Brisbane's normally extremely hot summers! I spoke to reception who had to refer to management but nothing was done or no response from management.Telephone for bar service or food at pool which you are lucky if it gets answered! Being Christmas we were wanting to enjoy cocktails - only choice was Pav Bar. Tried Pina Calados... shocking... no resemblance. Next day tried some Berry Cocktail - not palatable...later realised the bar staff had used soda water instead of lemonade. End of our Christmas spirit!! On Christmas night had dinner at Pav Bar and our daughter ended up ill all night. Next day's negotiations with reception for assistance as it was our departure date were quite appalling and lacked empathy - all about protecting themselves.

Fantastic.

What a lovely hotel, great concierge to greet us on arrival. Smooth check in, lots of information offered. Our room on the 8th floor was beautiful. Wonderful view of the river and pool below. Bed was comfy, pillows perfect. Bathroom big an spacious, separate shower and great big bath. The AC worked really well too. We couldn't fault anything during our stay. The Pav bar for happy hour drinks and a relaxing out door area to sit outside and chill out after full day of shopping and sight seeing. Highly recommend a stay here. Its close to everything, the riverside places to dine a short walk and the queen St mall for great shopping. We will definitely be back.

Great comfort and location

Very easy booking in and comfortable room and atmosphere. A big plus is it location to the river, city and botanical gardens. Only negative would be the $57 charge for car parking.

Would NOT recommend

Pros: Breakfast staff were lovely and wonderful. Location and proximity to shops.
Cons: Cleanliness in rooms & in the breakfast area outside. The ground looked like it needed waterblasting. Maintenance to be more timely and service.
Location: Great - lovely to have breakfast outside next to river and great for shops
Cleanliness is not regarded as a priority. Hair in the shower, dirty tea cups on the first day I arrived. I think the only thing they had changed was the bed linen (I hope). I had written this down for housekeeping the next day and assumed they had read this since the note was thrown out. Shame because the hairs were still in the shower and cups were still not replaced.Aside from that, the carpet felt like it was a little 'sticky'. Interior also in desperate need of a refurbishment. Great location next to the river and to the shops and although some redeeming features such as wonderful breakfast staff, the overall stay was tainted by dirtiness, maintenance man turning up 50 mins later and only after 3 phone calls with a bad attitude and front desk young man very smarmy. I got the feeling he was reading my 'file' and smirking. Manager did try to rectify the situation but there were too many issues that needed to be addressed if I was to recommend this hotel. Also, do NOT use the spa they recommend on their website as I found out on the day, it is like a 20 min car ride across the city! Why 'partner' with a spa that is across the city?????? Concierge did try their best by canceling this appointment and sent me to Aquarius Spa which I would have to say was not really suited to clientele of a 5 star hotel. Not a great finish to an already dubious stay. Also, do NOT use the shuttle service they recommend to/from the airport. I turned up and it was like a 40 min wait!

Nice location with fantastic views

Pros: Central, fantastic city and river views and great floor design
Cons: Major room refurbishment
Location: Central and close to a lot of restaurants
Junior suite on 21st floor with fantastic views and overall beautiful designed space and layout but unfortunately some of the furniture are old and tired.Needs major refurbishment and removal of nasty stale odour in the room.

Bar Staff

Pros: The suite we stayed in was very nice over looking the water which was good to work for the desk.
Cons: If bar staff can not keep up with the demand of their guests then more staff need to be put on at peek times or better training.
Location: Good walking distance to Qpac
Very happy overall, had two visits to the bar very disappointed that with three people working behind the bar could not keep up with the demand from guests which was a little frustrating.
