Disappointing, couldn't recommend

Posted Apr 18, 2016 on Hotels
Reality was nothing like portrayed on the web. It was dirty; air conditioners were ineffective and hard to operate, ditto for the TVs (we had to manually turn on and off); there was no clock radio; the room wasn't serviced (and on the day it was, it wasn't obvious what was done apart from replace towels. Noisy depite us requesting a quiet room. In hindsight, we would have been better off stying in town for the same money and paying extra for transport. I couldn't recommend. Staff (especially the chef) were good. Except when we rang reception to see if we could get more toilet paper - we were hung up on. Great!!!!

Hi Chris, Wow. So sorry you didn't enjoy your stay. It's impossible to please everyone even though we are trying very hard with a complete spring clean of every room, professional service on air conditioners, upgrade of TV/movie provider. Guests are praising us for all these actions and more. I'm at a loss as to how tor respond to your negativity as we genuinely believe we are presenting a great rate and a great accommodation and dining experience to our guests.

Convenient location, super clean

Posted Apr 7, 2016 on Wotif
This was chosen for its location, close to the busway meaning I could get everywhere I needed to get to easily. I was highly impressed with the level of cleanliness of the room, even the grout between the bathroom tiling was spotless. However the pool was full of plant matter, the reception has limited hours and you can't get room service on a Saturday or Sunday night which is a shame because the menu sounded amazing. Overall a good stay and I'd definitely go again

Hi Hilarey, Come back as we have now launched dinner all week, adding Saturday & Sunday. Room service also available. Chinos serve quality local produce, professionally cooked and creatively presented with great tap beers, local coffee - a great little restaurant. So pleased you thought our property beautifully maintained - the tree at the pool will unfortunately have to be removed as it's leaves are a nightmare in autumn. This is underway. We hope you return soon and enjoy Chino's room service dinner & breakfast.

Disgruntled!

Posted Mar 24, 2016 on Hotels
Ok hotel, very disappointed that hotels.com advertised a price on line for 2 adults and 2 children inclusive yet when we checked in hotel charged us $35 extra for sofa bed?? Which was already made up so they knew we were a 4. Hotel Chino didn't want to know about the discrepancy. Still waiting for hotels.com to explain their online pricing difference??

Conveniently located for the purpose of the stay

Posted Mar 22, 2016 on Wotif
Pros: Easy access, conveniently located to major arterial roads.
Cons: The room and bathroom were a bit undersize.
Location: N/A
My stay was very brief (overnight) and the hotel suited my needs for the purpose

Thank you Peter for highlighting our convenient location. Our compact rooms are best suited for a brief overnight stay. Next visit book a spacious queen studio for extra space in the bedroom and bathroom and a generous balcony.

Basic hotel rooms are extremely small and only have a double bed. The studios are fabulous, spacious with very comfortable beds and definitely worth the extra money. Convenient location, free parking. very nice and helpful reception staff. Would definitely stay again.

Thank you for your review. You seem to know our property well - we love our return guests. You are correct about the compact hotel rooms being exactly that - compact. However they are only really intended for an overnight stay. The larger rooms are priced to be just a little extra cost and they are definitely worth it. Make sure you have dinner in Chinos next visit - Alex is making delicious food and the boutique tap beers are icy cold. We'll even shout you one next visit. Cheers!

Unexpected rushed trip to Brisbane.

Posted Jan 13, 2016 on Wotif
Pros: The beds and pillows were extremely comfortable and that is always a consideration for us because the comfort of a good nights sleep is always paramou
Cons: Maybe a r3ecognition that if people are staying, a skeleton staff may not be adequate.
Location: We loved having shopping nearby and the vicinity to hospitals was superb.
Our daughter experienced labour three weeks earlier than anticipated and wanted us to be around for her return home after a caesarian but her house is just too small for all of us so we went to Brisbane as soon as we could arrange it so that it coincided with the return home. There were so many variables as is always the same with the birth of a child so we wanted someone that was close to the hospital as well as to where our daughter and son-in-law lived. We were informed of the 30% sale on Wotif so used that as our starting base. Hotel Chino fit the bill and we were thrilled to find that our son-in-law's father and his wife had also found this hotel as their obvious choice after they also caught wind of the discount from Wotif., They were able to assist us to get into the hotel at a late arrival time. Unfortunately we were affected by a series of being locked out of the hotel due to a bad batch of entry cards. They would work on the first instance but after that we were forced to contact security on the first instance and then were too reluctant to leave the residence after that so missing out on meals and swims in the pool. We did work around this on two occasions but were treated with respect and understanding. We were offered compensation for this when we negotiated for an extended stay and were grateful for this.

Hi Wendy, Thank you for posting such a specific review of Hotel Chino and the wotif sale. Your feedback is truly appreciated. We are really sorry for all the inconvenience caused by a batch of faulty security cards. It is so disappointing when something completely out of our control affects our guests and we tried to compensate everyone effected. Thank you for giving our rooms and location such a great endorsement as we believe Hotel Chino is so centrally located to hospitals and major freeways/tunnel etc plus there is a shopping centre just a stroll away. We hope that baby and new mum are progressing well and we hope to accommodate you for your next Grandparent visit.
