Pros: Looks great.
Cons: Please do something about the smell of urine outside.
Location: Great location! Easy walk to everything!
Whilst the staff are lovely, the entrance to the hotel smells of urine & the hotel carparking does not allow for the height of a 4WD so we had to pay an extra $30 just to park in the carpark at the front of the hotel. The air conditioning did not work so we were unable to lower the temperature to counteract the heat outside. Other than that it is a nice hotel so it is a shame about these issues.

Ok hotel but a little tired in places.

Pros: The staff were very helpful
Cons: The hotel needs a refrub
Location: The hotel is a short walk from Roma street station, even with children and pulling suitcases! If you are wasting a day its worth going over the river
The hotel overlooks the river which is a nice view. The windows are unfortunately only single glazed which does mean it is a little noisy at peak times with the traffic but its not intrusive or disruptive unless you're really sensitive! The staff were very helpful and gave good advise and especially as we had a day to waste before catching a flight and had no idea what to do. The hotel itself was ok but of all the major brands I've stayed in recently (and theirs been quite a few) I found the bedroom to be small in comparison. It also had terrible dim lighting which was no good for working by, but generally this isn't an issue for most visitors. The bathroom was also poorly designed and in having a shower I managed to half soak the floor and the toilet roll, so be advised to move this somewhere else before stepping in! The gym is pretty poor but then it is only a hotel and the pool isn't much to get excited about. I had room service and some drinks which was delivered promptly and I thought was good value. Again the staff were very polite and efficient. Overall if you are traveling on business or as a couple then this hotel is fine. If you are a family then its probably not the best choice for you. We also stayed in another hotel the week before called the Johnson and found this much better for our needs as a family.

Great location, miserable stay

Posted Aug 27, 2016 on Wotif
Pros: Location to South Bank and Queen Street Mall
The air-conditioning didn't work and as you couldn't open a window, the room was like a sauna. After requesting someone take a look at it, we were told it always happens and were offered another room, on a floor below at 11pm at night. For that sort of inconvenience I would have thought an upgrade, not a down-grade. The toilet button was broken and the cistern kept filling unless you hit the button correctly. Very disappointing.
