Very comfortable

Cons: More hot breakfast items
Location: Near by are all the stores and restaurants and historic down town Abingdon.
Nice, convient hotel and the night staff was great.

Convenient to downtown & shopping

okay hotel

Hotel rooms small but okay for a night. Staff friendly. Breakfast isn't very good but McDonald's is almost next door.

Decent hotel for the money

It's an older hotel, and it's one of those you get what you pay for deals. It's certainly not the Grand Hyatt, but it's a suitable hotel for an overnight or extended travel stay if you're looking to save some money. The only problem my family had with it is that it IS NOT very handicap wheelchair accessible. I have a son with a wheelchair. It is a three story hotel with no elevator. There are ground level rooms, and on the front entrance there are five steps to contend with, and three steps at the rear entrance. With my son they weren't terrible to navigate, but if you have someone in your party in a wheelchair you need to be aware of it. When we checked in we did not know it didn't have an elevator as we had booked the room on hotels.com back in April. The lady at the night desk was very nice in moving us from a 3rd floor room to a ground floor room. That weekend happened to be the weekend of the Thunder Valley Nationals drag racing in Bristol, so moving to another hotel was not going to happen. The night lady worked her magic and we got a good nights sleep, and headed off the next morning. The free continental breakfast was pretty good also.

I am very glad to know that the staff took care of you. Yes, we have very limited number of handicapped rooms, which has no stairs at all. Unfortunately, your room was not reserved for handicapped room. Not sure what happened between Hotels.com and us, but I will definitely look into this, so that it doesn't happen again, and unfortunately our other handicapped rooms were all taken too. Clean, convenient, economical stay

I never expect that much from a budget hotel stay, I just hope for cleanliness without the smell of smoke. I was pleasantly surprised with this Super 8. It was close to the interstate for convenience yet fairly quiet, close to old town Abingdon for exploring, and the cleanliness and service was excellent.

@30 minute drive to Bristol.

Hotel ok. Very dated. Needs updating. Rooms were clean though. Poor pillows. Bed ok. But the room was quiet except if Guests in other surrounding rooms flushed toilet or showered was rather loud. Didn't have breakfast which was included. No fresh fruit or yogurts. Cold cereal, biscuits, toast, waffle maker. Would be fine if that is what you liked for breakfast. However the staff were very friendly and helpful.
