For full relaxation and contemplation of the island's green hills and the turquoise-and-blue Caribbean Sea, the Peter Island Resort and Spa provides hammocks here and there and teak rocking chairs on a walkway along a rocky point facing Sir Francis Drake Channel between Peter Island and Tortola. Adjacent to the swimming pool outside the lobby building, a separate building houses a library furnished with upholstered seating and 1 of the island's 2 TV sets with outside reception. Complimentary wireless Internet access is provided throughout the resort.
The beachfront health Spa on Peter Island overlooks gardens and ocean, and offers massage, facials, spa tub, Ayurvedic and hydrotherapy treatment, Dead Sea Mineral Bath, and Tropical Lime and Ginger scrub. Nail care and waxing is also available. Couples and outdoor treatment rooms can be provided. Advance reservations are required for all massage and spa treatments. Where to Eat
Tradewinds Restaurant - Breakfast buffet and à la carte choices. Linen-service fine-dining dinners with Caribbean and Tortola views from air-conditioned dining room. Entertainment some nights. Dinner choices such as Blackened Grouper, Oxtail Ravioli, and Coconut Ahi Tuna Ceviche. Buffet Saturday nights.
Deadman's Beach Bar & Grill - Casual spot surrounded by palm trees on Deadman's Beach. Caribbean and Dead Chest Island views. Lunch served daily, and dinner is offered on alternating nights. Lunch selection including pizza and light meals. Dinner choices such as chilled coconut/passionfruit soup, lemongrass-sugarcane skewered shrimp, nori-wrapped tuna, Black Angus steak, conch cakes, vegetarian pasta. Carribbean-themed buffet with steel drum band entertainment on Wednesday evenings.
Drake's Lounge - Adjacent to pool in lobby-building breezeway. Lunch of salads, wraps, sandwiches. All-day and evening coffee drinks, tropical drinks, smoothies, cocktails, cognacs, single-malt Scotches, and aged rums.
Afternoon tea is served daily in the lobby-building's breezeway. On Wednesday nights the resort's manager hosts a complimentary cocktail party on the beach.

The resort's water sports center lends snorkeling and scuba gear, small sailboats, stand-up paddle boards, windsurfers, and kayaks at no charge. A private white sand beach is steps away, and guests can swim in the beautiful turquoise blue water. Beach cabanas are provided, along with sun loungers, umbrellas, and beach towels.
Play on the resort's 4 Tru-Flex tennis courts (2 are lit) is complimentary. During winter high season, a tennis pro offers lessons for an extra charge. Mountain bikes for exploring the island's 5 miles of hilly trails and for getting around the resort can be rented on site. The resort also includes half-court basketball, beach volleyball, 24-hour fitness facility, and a fitness trail with exercise stations.
From the resort's yacht harbor, boats take guests on snorkeling and diving excursions, including dives on the RMS Rhone, a famous diving wreck dating from 1867 that lies 20 minutes away near Salt Island. For a fee, beginners' and certification scuba-diving classes are available. On Thursdays, the resort's boat transports guests to Virgin Gorda, where they can rent a Jeep or car to explore the island or snorkel the famous Baths of Virgin Gorda. A fee is charged for transportation.
The resort operates its own 26-foot powerboat, which can be chartered for half- and full-day trips. A private operator at the island's yacht harbor offers half- and full-day trips aboard a 41-foot sailboat. Deep-sea and inshore fishing charters are also available from the yacht harbor.
