Well, they’re trying to improve the property. You can tell there’s been updates and improvements, but there was still a little ways to go. Room and bed were ok, but the caulk job around the tub was subpar. Mixed bag.

The location was excellent - in a lovely tree filled neighborhood within easy walking of the main commercial streets. The room was comfortable, clean, no frills, but did have a little fridge. no complaints. But there is a general air of disinterest in the details that make for a truly pleasant experience. The Keurig coffee maker in the lobby of the guest building was a plus, but no milk, only artificial creamers. There were unwatered dead plants in the public areas and the inn went cheap on guest toiletries and the continental breakfast. The mini pastries were stale and tasteless.
There is a restaurant in the inn with lovely outside seating, but dining experience was disappointing the food was only fair. A tomato salad special - about $16 - had only 2 small pieces of chopped tomato. Service was friendly and reasonably professional. This would be a great place to sit outside for drinks.

Check in was 30 minutes late. Shower has some green stains on the floor.
Rooms could not accommodate 5 people comfortably
When we asked for towels and wash clothes at the beginning of our stay they assured us it would be delivered . Then later that evening when we asked about the towels they said their housekeeping staff went home for the night and could only officer us smaller pool towels . Would not recommend this hotel. Location is good but hotel service needs to improve

"The Garden Place is incredibly beautiful and romantic. I stayed in the Van Gogh room overlooking the courtyard.
