Fantastic location near Times Square

Posted Oct 18, 2017
Hotel was a bit run down but it was clean, cheap and in a fantastic location. In a few minutes you were in Times Square and you could walk to Grand Central and the Empire Stare Building in 5-10 minutes. 42nd St subway station was 3 blocks away. The room was very small for 2 people and there was only 1 bed even though we had requested 2. However with little fuss we were given a roll away bed. Space was tight but we only went there to sleep as there is far too much to do in NYC. 2 great diners next door. I'd definitely return to this hotel.

Hotel in the heart of NYC!

Posted Oct 16, 2017
Pros: Location was great. Has a small old world charm and the staff were wonderful.
Cons: The rooms could be updated slightly without losing the historical feel.
Location: Location is great - just a block or two from time square!
This is a historical hotel located just a block or so from time square. It is an excellent choice if wanting to stay in or close to time square without paying higher hotel rates. The hotel is very clean and the employees are wonderful. Very helpful with suggestions and directions to sites. Rooms could use a little updating but they are very clean and comfortable.

Great location for Hotel

Posted Oct 15, 2017
The hotel is in an excellent location close to Times Square and surrounding attrations. The hotel itself is just outdated art deco rooms could do with an upgrade too, lots of marks and it looks a little dirty. Luckily we were only in the hotel to sleep and get ready. On the plus side one member of staff Joey is really friendly and very helpful. If we needed to know where anywhere was or if you wanted to book in somewhere he would do it straight away for you, nothong was too much hassle for him.

Close to what you want

Posted Oct 14, 2017
Good size room just a 30 second walk to times square and 5 minutes to rockafeller centre! Very nice hotel staff however rooms are looking dated and could do with a restoration. If a cheap hotel close to new York landmarks then look no further

Hotel St James is so close to Times Square so perfect for the tour buses . A short walk to Rockerfella Centre , Grand Central Station, Macy's and shopping . Hotel was clean , comfortable beds , maid service daily. No kettle in rooms but two really good deli's next door so not a problem . Hotel staff were helpful and friendly . Joey in reception is a great bloke , very friendly and will help you with whatever you need . Would definitely go back

GOOD HOTEL IN TIMES SQUARE

Posted Oct 12, 2017
Pros: Location to Times Square and Theatres
If you are looking for a flash, new hotel Hotel St James is not for you. If you are looking for a value hotel close to Times Square this is your hotel. An older building and rooms but very clean and well looked after. Fantastic location with a 2 minute walk to Times Square and easy walk to theatres, Central Park, Macys and all other shopping spots. Great staff especially Joey. Our initial disappointment of the age of the building etc when we first arrived was quickly lost once we settled in. Next door to two delis which made it easy for breakfast. Would definitely stay here again when in New York as the price was great for the location.
