Generally nice hotel in good location

Posted Sep 24, 2017
Nice room and friendly staff. Some unexpected scaffolding at the front so couldn’t appreciate the outside of the building. Lovely buffet style breakfast but surprised at lack of a bar and own restaurant for evening meals when getting back after long days in New York when you just want to have a relaxing drink before heading to your room. Guess I just assumed there would be one. Food room service sort of available but that is ordering from local restaurants that you have to pay directly so can’t put on room billl. Great location just a very short walk from Times Square.

Hello and thank you for your feedback! We are glad that you enjoyed our service and rooms here at the Belvedere Hotel. We just want to mention in regards to a restaurant and bar within our hotel, that there is a Brazilian steakhouse called Churrascaria Plataforma that is attached to our hotel that is a great option for dinner for our guests, which also houses a bar that is also readily available to our guests during its business hours. We certainly hope you enjoyed your stay with us and hope to see you again soon! Warm Regards

Great hotel near Times Square

Posted Sep 24, 2017
Great hotel in nice area about 10 minute walk from Times Square. Room was spacious (executive double) with small fridge (a god send), coffee maker and spa bath (however we never tried this out as the shower was fab). Room service was excellent, coffee and toiletries were topped up daily. Only two negatives to mention....the air con in the room was very noisy, but essential, and the hotel lifts, although 4 in total, were small and frequently full so just be prepared to be patient. There is a restaurant and concierge in the hotel but we never used either. Staff were generally friendly and efficient. Great base for a stay in the big apple.

We do apologize about the wait for our elevators during your stay, and we sincerely hope you mentioned the AC issue during your stay so we could have had our engineer attempt to resolve it for you. Great location

Posted Sep 23, 2017
Pros: Location
Cons: Free wifi
Location: Times Square, Empire State Building, Fifth Avenue, Broadway, Rockefeller Centre, eating!
The main thing going for this hotel is its location, it is round the corner from Times Square and easy walking distance of many of Manhatten's top attractions. The room was clean and comfortable although very noisy. My main complaint is the charge for wifi. I mean, really? In New York, where you can get free wifi in most shops and even public spaces? It was not even consistent wifi and we had to get 3 different codes in 5 days. The staff just shrugged, not even an attempt at an embarrassed apology. So, for this reason I would not recommend this hotel to anyone who can't go on hotel without wifi, which in the 21st century is most of the developed world.

Thank you Nikki, for taking the time to submit you review as your comments will help us improve our service for our guests. We offer free wifi with all executive and executive superior reservations, and the deluxe room category is the only one that does not have wifi included in the rates. This is our way of keeping the rates a bit more competitive for our guests who are looking for a great deal on their stay. We hope that you enjoyed your stay despite the wifi concerns, and hope that you'll give us another chance so we can change your mind. Thanks for staying with us.

Graduation trip

While the hotel was close to Times Square it really was old and run down. I might have been expecting more updated furnishings and facilities because of the price. I did love the location however.

Staff is exceptional. Above and beyond.

Posted Sep 19, 2017
Pros: The Staff!
Cons: The smaller, standard rooms are just too small. The bathrooms are cramped. The larger rooms are very comfortable. Go for the upgrade.
Location: A 24 hour diner around the corner, near Times Square. Mexican food restaurant, deli. Theaters within walking distance.
I can't tell you how many times the staff at the Belevedere went above and beyond to make us comfortable. We checked in very late and the check in host let us know about our Expedia upgrades, and let us fill out some additional paperwork after we had rested that night. Sensitive and classy . When we asked for an upgrade (the standard rooms are a mite small. Narrow hallways), they got us a wonderful, bigger, clean room overnight. The breakfast staff was efficient, making sure we got our Expedia discount. Even the cleaning staff was polite and thorough, cleaning our room when we finally dragged our jet-lagged lazy selves out at 4 p.m. I don't generally do reviews, but BRAVA Belvedere.

Great hotel and location!

Posted Sep 17, 2017
Room was great and seemed recently renovated. Had a good mix of modern and classic NY decor complete with large fridge, microwave and good coffee machine. Maids were great and reception very helpful. Door staff were great always holding door and wishing you a good day. 2 minute walk from Times Square.
