Location and price are good. Not much else was. One of the doormen was helpful. Rooms looked nothing like their photos.

Great hotel

Posted Oct 21, 2017
We were really happy with this hotel. It was within walking distance of Times Square and the Theatre District but not right in the middle. We liked our hotel room and it was quite spacious. The water pressure in the shower was poor and the elevator very slow. You also had to pay for wifi if you wanted it which is unfortunate as this hotel is not cheap. Overall very happy with our stay and would recommend to anyone coming to New York!

Back again

Posted Oct 20, 2017
Pros: Location is excellent - close to Broadway and Times Square but not noisy at all. Inclusion of a tablet in my room was a real bonus.
Cons: Earlier check in time would be useful. It was fine for me this time but 4pm is a bit late
This must be my 12th stay at the Belvedere. Obviously I wouldn't keep coming back if I didn't enjoy it. Once again it didn't disappoint. The staff were helpful at all times especially when I managed to dislodge the wardrobe door from it's runner - it was repaired by the time I got back to the room after popping out for a meal. The last couple of times I have stayed here I was in a room that has been fully redesigned with new furniture. I liked the previous style but the new drawers and desk are also good and mange to be modern without overdoing it. Still plenty of storage space. Although moving the fridge from the mini kitchen into the main room seems like an odd choice I soon got used to it. A nice touch is the tablet that came with the room - very handy indeed. I've already booked to be back in February 2018

Nice hotel, nothing outstanding

Posted Oct 20, 2017
A decent place to stay in a good Times Square location. Rooms were small, but clean and everything operated in good condition. King bed was comfortable. Not worth the price I had to pay, but for some reason it was an expensive hotel week in Manhattan. I felt I paid way too much for the type of hotel it is. It is a converted apartment building. Two elevators cannot handle the amount of rooms the building now has, so expect waits and frustration if you are in and out during busy times. If one should break, it would make your stay unbearable.

Good Hotel with Friendly Staff in ideal location

Posted Oct 18, 2017
Pros: How helpful the staff were. Always available and accomodating
Cons: Decor is a little dated in places. Lift kept getting stuck, so could likely do with a good overhaul
Location: This hotel is ideally situated, and you can get most places in a few minutes, whether it be a bar, restaurant or theatre.
The Belvedere is a good hotel, ideally situated within a short walk to most things. Easy access to the subway, which is just a couple of minutes walk to 50th street, or literally a 5 minute walk to Times Square. Plenty of restaurants and bars close by, with our favourite being a family run italian restaurant just two doors down the street. The staff were very pleasant from the moment we arrived and the bellhops a mine of local information. Rooms are a little small, as with most hotels in Manhattan, but they're comfortable and clean, though a little updating of the decor would help. Overall, a comfortable stay, made easy be the attitude of the staff who always made themselves available for any help required. Would definitely use this hotel again.

Pros: Location was great. Rooms are not overly fancy, but comfortable, not cramped. Shower pressure and water temperature were fantastic.
Cons: Elevator service was not good. We were on a low floor. The elevator was often at capacity when it reached us.
Location: This is in the Theater District and only blocks from Times Square. 8th Ave subway line is close. Lots of places to eat, too.
Our three day adventure in NYC was facilitated by a clean, safe hotel in a good location. We took the subway to various spots around the city and also enjoyed a Broadway musical. The guy who checked us in was friendly and efficient, getting our trip off to a good start.
