Beautiful hotel close to amazing shopping.

Posted Oct 19, 2017
Pros: We were very happy with our room, the service and the overall experience.
Location: The location was within walking distance to Times Square, Central Park, world class shopping, St. Patrick's Cathedral and Rockefeller Centre.
From start to finish our stay was first class. Upon check in we were double upgraded to a beautiful suite. Our bellman, Patrick, took the time to point out special features in the room and interesting sites from our picture perfect view. The staff was courteous and always helpful.

Upscale hotel in great location!

Posted Oct 17, 2017
The Peninsula is a luxury hotel at 5th and 55th. Close to Rockefeller Plaza, Times Square, Central Park, and all the great shopping on 5th Avenue, the Peninsula has a great location. The front desk staff was friendly, the room was clean and well-appointed, and the bed was very comfortable. Loved it!

Long weekend in NYC

Posted Oct 14, 2017
Pros: Location, staff and pool area.
Cons: Cleaning, and some of the furniture could use a cleaning or be replaced.
Location: Great location on 5th. Close to Central Park, theatres, Rockefeller Plaza and Time Square.
Staff and location were fantastic. From check-in to check-out the staff was extremely attentive and pleasant. Location was great. Easy walk to Central Park, theatres and Times Square. The pool area was gorgeous. The rooftop lounge was nice, but gets busy right at opening and tough to find a spot. Overall a very nice hotel, in a perfect location.

This is a first class establishment in a perfect location. Our room was fabulous. The Penisula was one of the highlights of our stay in NYC.

First trip to NYC

Posted Oct 13, 2017
As a surprise for my wife on her 40th birthday, I booked our first ever trip to NYC. I am a planner. I booked this trip 6 months in advance thru Expedia and got a great deal. I looked at so many different hotels, and having just completed the trip, I can say I am so happy we stayed at The Peninsula. From the moment we arrived, we were treated luxuriously! They welcomed us, checked us in quickly, and took us personally to our room and explained the different features of the hotel. She informed us they had upgraded us to the Grand Luxe Room (we booked Superior Room) and wished my wife a happy birthday. There was even a delicious chocolate desert on the table waiting for us! Now, I know they can't do that with everyone, but it made us feel so special. One night we went to the ballet and came out looking for a taxi. A gentleman escorted us to the "house car" and it happened to be available! He droves us in a very nice luxurious car to the ballet at no charge (although we did tip of course). Also offered complimentary shuttle to Broadway show. The room was great and my wife used the soaking tub each night we were there which was great considering all the walking we did around NYC. The bed was very comfortable and they had turn down service...slippers at side of bed, glass with water bottle and a bucket of ice. I know there are cheaper routes to go when staying in NYC, but I wanted to feel spoiled a little, and experience a 5 star hotel on am amazing trip. We got it. Great choice!

Disappointing stay at the Peninsula

Posted Oct 13, 2017
Pros: The bed
Location: Great
First night lights wouldn't turn off..called engineering and they came and just unplugged them..never returned to fix them. Second day I went to take a shower and the switch to turn on the shower was broken..had to call engineering again. Third day the toilet wouldn't flush..had to call again..beyond frustrated. I bought this hotel on Expedia at a fab rate so consequently we were in a very small room that faced a shaft...Won't do this again. Several times asked for a manager but no one reached out thru our entire stay...

Very nice stay. Close to a lot of attractions.

Posted Oct 10, 2017
Pros: Great location.
Location: Rockefeller Plaza, Trump Tower, Times Square, Central Park, Shopping.
The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Got reservations through the concierge to a great little restaurant within walking distance, seated right away. Just a block or two from Central Park, walking distance to Rockefeller Plaza, and other attractions. Would love to have been able to stay longer.

Usual Peninsula great service except on the rooftop bar treated like tourist like they are doing you a favor. Rooms very dated and similar to a three star hotel not in the same class as Chicago and Beverly Hills.
