staff training re phone inquiries

Posted Nov 16, 2017
Cons: need to take a bit more care to maintain the charm of an old and beautiful building (e.g. paint the plywood underneath the vent in room 11, etc.)
Location: cool historic place in a nice spot.
when I called to ask about parking I was advised that parking was available. I then called again re another matter several days before my stay, and was advised that, as I had not registered for parking , there was none available. While the info regarding the need to register for parking is in the registration email (buried deep) one would think that staff would offer information regarding the need to register for parking when a guests asks about parking. I parked a mile away. This is any easy staff training fix, and I hope they do it.

Convenient location

Posted Nov 13, 2017
This place is not far from the attractions. There’s public transportation outside the hotel and is only about 10-20 minutes away if you drive.

Nice place

Nice place with old bones architecture appeal. Room very comfortable. Breakfast offerings pretty unimaginative. Some fruit would be nice. Parking a bit distant if weather is bad.

Late night stay

Posted Sep 12, 2017
This is an old B&B in Brookline with small converted bedrooms with private bathrooms. The room had 2 queen beds which were very comfortable. A small desk and no sofa or chair. It also had forced hot air so you had no control over HVAC. The breakfast area was extremely small and no living room. Great location with no frills so it's just a place to get a good night's sleep. The staff was extremely professional too

Dear Brian, Thank you for your valuable feedback. We are happy to know that you found our location convenient and our staff so professional. We always do our strive to serve our guests the best we can. In regards to the heating, there is a vent that can be open or closed in each room to control the room temperature. Hope to see you again soon. Regards, Phil

Great B & B

Posted Sep 4, 2017
Pros: clean, close to BU, private.
Cons: breakfast was limited
Location: Close to BU, T train, restaurants, cafes, Fenway park
Stayed here for a night. My room was on the 4th floor (walkup), large and really clean. Bed was very comfortable and I had a private bathroom. There was breakfast available in the lobby area - cereal, juice, bagel and coffee. The T train is across the street for easy commuting to other places in the city. Boston University is a 5 minute walk. Fenway park is also close by. There is no parking, street parking is metered and there is no overnight parking on the street. Plan ahead to park your car in a parking garage recommended by the receptionist. Loved this place. I will definitely stay here again!

Fenway's hidden gem!

Had such a nice stay at the Beacon Inn! Couldn't believe what we got for the price. Great service and such a nice room. Much bigger than any hotel in Boston where you would end up paying $300 a night.

This hotel and its neighbourhood are generally good, but I was arranged to another location, 1750 Beacon St, about 2 miles away from 1087 Beacon St, the original address shown in my order. No email or other forms of notification was sent to me before I checked in. They still owed me an explanation.

Convenient but not comfortable

Posted Jul 24, 2017 on Hotels
The room I stayed in had a detached private bath which was down the hall. While this is an inconvenience, it was offset by the condition of the room. The bed was directly in front of the air conditioner so whenever it would go on, it would blast my head; the floor had lint on it; and there were almost no outlets available. I understand that this is an older building but there are a few things that could be done to minimize the space such as a power cord. Also, the tv did not work and I wasn't in the building when the staff was there to potentially fix it.
