Pros: Bathroom was nice and updated. Location was good.
Cons: Wash the afghan on the bed--it had obvious stains. Staff could be more professional.
Stayed here because of the proximity to family members.

Well -located hotel with some idosyncracies

1. Our room was on 6th floor. Disco/bar on 8th floor, active and very loud, with DJ’s and booming bass, every night from 8pm to 2am. Booming bass very loud and palpable from our room. 2. Hotel is called “McCarren Hotel and Pool”. We arrived on 9/22, pool and entire pool area “closed for the season “, despite temperatures in the 90’s for several days. 3. No place to read a book of a paper: no chair in room, and lobby has chair seating for only 5 people. 4. Room quite small 5. When booked 8/5 thru Expedia, room Rae $444/night. When I checked after we’d been there (after2 days of a 3-day stay), room rate for 3rd night listed for $220. Spoke with front desk, said “well, that’s the price at which you reserved,” but gave us $100 credit for 3rd night, which therefore only cost $344.

Great staff. But the rooms over the pool are loud with blaring music.

Thwros are super small but itfidntmatter to me. I was there to sleep. The pool was great. My room was ready waaaay before check in which is 4 Pm. So I got a full pool. Day. Outrageously high cocktail and food prices do be prepared for that. It was my daughters 30th and we got a perfect day on a very wet weekend. It cost a small fortune but it's exactly what I'd hoped it would be. Great sax player at the pool too.

Does not deliver on any promise.

I stayed at McCarren hotel for 4 days. Some staff were friendly, one woman in particular was rude. The rollaway bed I was told upon arrival would be sent to the room never was. When I asked about it again, I was told that there were now none available. I asked that extra linens be sent to the room. They never were. The shower in my room overflowed onto the floor, and the shower grout was moldy. The safe I had been keeping my computer in malfunctioned the night before I had to depart, and I could not retrieve my computer. The man at the front desk said he would see about finding someone to get into the safe, since I had to depart early the next morning. He did not call me back. When I called him back after waiting a half hour, he said that he could not get ahold of the hotel manager, and that the hotel engineers would not get in until after I departed in the morning. At that point I was assured that my computer would be retrieved from the safe as soon as possible, and then sent to me via overnight Fed Ex. I was home for 3 days and had yet not received my computer. I called the hotel to get the tracking number, only to find that they had not yet sent my computer. It was still there. In fact, they did not send it until the next day, now 4 days later, and they did not send it overnight, but by ground. It took 10 days to get my computer back. Terrible service all the way around. Do not expect that what is advertised or promised will be delivered.

Stay at your own risk!

Not a happy camper, during check in there were a customer complaining about Women Period Blood on their sheets. I thought scammer trying to get a free night of stay. After check in I inspected the bed, first time I notice the bed end blanket is wet in some area. I proceed to inspect the bed and first thing I saw a bug on the bed. I got a room on 2nd floor pretty noisy and the hallway smell like weed a few times. Overall I would NOT recommend this hotel

McCarron hotel

The hotel had a great location and lots of great spots were all around. The hotel staff were lovely, but the tv in my room didn't work and my room was missing an ironing board and I just had to keep calling the front desk for many basics that were missing from my room. I tried to eat at the restaurant and it left a lot to be desired.I wouldnt stay there again.
