Close to Marriott conference hotel

Pros: Desk staff were pleasant.
Cons: See above. Replace desk chair. Modernize mattress to pillowtop style. Check cleanliness of linens.
My experience of this hotel is a budget hotel which has hard beds, worn out desk chair with torn vinyl seat, and dirty coverlet on the bed. The fridge and microwave were handy and the bathroom was clean. Location is the main reason to select this hotel over other budget hotels.

With the exception of the girl working in the kitchen and Curtis (housekeeping supervisor I think), the staff including the owners are not friendly or helpful. I watched the owner (or high up manager) talk down to the girl working the kitchen for breakfast when she tried talking to him about a problem... he blew her off and walked away while she was talking to him. The staff that checked us in wasn't necessarily rude but clearly had better things to do. We were checking in early and once we realized it we apologized and just asked if our luggage could be held...and that very obviously wasn't an option. She appeared VERY put off by us. Our room shower smelled like sulfur and when we approached the late night front desk staff about that and the bed condition, she told us she was off at 11 but would put in a maintenance request and the hotel was booked so moving wasn't an option...we never saw maintenance. Finally on Wed of our Mon-Sun visit, I demanded a new room because smell was aweful and we might as well had been sleeping on box springs. Curtis was more than helpful in getting us a new room quickly. I know I'm being picky but the paint lines in the rooms are aweful too, this to me is a reflection of the cares you give about your hotel. There is a clear sign outside the door of the designated smoking area but the staff smoke right outside the entrance door... not cool. I don't know that I'll ever stay at another La Quinta again....

I would like to apologize that the staff behavior in a non professional manner. I will be conducting a full staff meeting immediately to discuss your review with them. I will guarantee these issues will not happen again. I will also make sure personally to check into the sulfur smell in your room and find out where the smell is coming from. Thank you for letting me know about the things you witnessed I will be making sure there are some changes immediately. I would like to also let you know we are remodeling at this time and the rooms will be completely painted and remodeled. The previous management are the ones that painted the rooms and so we are taking care of those issues.

Housekeeping left my door unlatched after service. No hot water in the shower, just warm.

I would like to apologize on behalf of the Housekeeper. I will be talking with the Housekeeper myself to make sure the Housekeeper knows we do not tolerate that I can guarantee that will never happen again from that Housekeeper. We did turn up the hot water temp so that should not be a problem from now.

Convient price

Had food/garbage in drawer. Sliding door to bathroom didn't open/close easily. Turned light off but kept flickering.

I would like to apologize on behalf of my Housekeeping Dept. We do not tolerate the Housekeepers not following protocol and leaving garbage in the room so I will be talking with that Housekeeper. I will have the Maintenance Dept look into the other issues. Thank you for letting us know.

literally was robbed just before i walked in

right, if the title isn't enough - the carpet in front of the bathroom (seemingly, & hopefully, from a poor shower arrangement) was soaking wet & everything felt kind of grimy. the sheets were clean but rough & the bed was hard. i rarely bother writing reviews, & i don't have high hopes for the cheapest hotel on a vacation package, but this wasn't really acceptable & i'll actively avoid staying there in the future.

Pros: Quiet area good staff.
Cons: They have done some updating which is great but the bathrooms could have been done as well.
Location: It is in the north west part of the twin cities area not far from albertville outlet mall. Right off the freeway easy to get anywhere.
A nice hotel good and clean. No issues. Quiet area In a business district. Not spectacular but ok .

Hotel experience

Cons: Invest in new air conditioners and mattresses. Deep clean room.
We chose this hotel because my daughter was taking a board exam in a nearby building. When we arrived at the room, it was so hot. Turned air conditioner on, but it put out very little cool air. I did call the front desk and was told it would take awhile - it never did. The beds were so hard, with mattresses collapsing on the sides in the middle. Long night. Room was not very clean. Very disappointed.

Thank you for taking the time to let us know how your stay was. I will have the Maintenance Dept check out that AC unit. We are in the middle of remodeling and everything in the rooms will be completely changed including all mattresses.
