Misnamed hotelPosted Jan 13, 2016
Pros: Price, convenient location, comfortable room.
Cons: I understand from staff that remodeling is being planned. This would be great as painting would spruce up in tub area.
Location: Visiting family who live near by.
We made a reservation for the La Quinta Inn. We had stayed there in the past. When we arrived in Harlingen, we could not locate it where we thought it was located. We saw instead a Quality Inn. We drove around the area and returned to the Quality Inn, went inside, and learned they had been La Quinta but now were Quality Inn. Change was made after I'd made reservations. Who would expect that to happen?

Surprisingly poor changePosted Dec 31, 2015
Cons: Staff. Definitely not organized as it pertains to resolving issues or room cleanliness.
When I arrived to the hotel I was surprised that the hotel had recently changed from La Quinta to Quality Inn. The staff could not find my reservation booked through Expedia. I gave her my itinerary # however that was no assistance. The staff member had me wait as she was calling Expedia to verify my information. Instead of helping the situation and allowing me to my room. The lady did not acknowledge me as I was waiting rather she turned her back and continued to look the other way. The 2nd day, after visiting family in the area, we arrived to the room to find that the key had been deactivated for the room (Time was about 8pm). I walked to the front desk to get the key activated and it was the same staff member with the same sour attitude. I walked back to the room and prepared for a shower, however when the cleaning person came by they failed to put shampoo and soaps. I called to front and the sour staff member told me to pick it up in the front. I of course did not go back to the front and suggested she bring it to the room. She made a scuff sound said ok. Day 3, we had the same issue with the key. So I walked to the front and asked for the manger. He spoke with me and instead of comforting the issue he mentioned the hotel changed. Not what I was looking for after the day-to-day experience I went through. I would not recommend the hotel to anyone unless major changes are done. Poor service!

Cocroach found in the bathroom. All rooms open to the outside. Freeway access was great. Nice restaurants and mall near. The breakfast wasn't great. Milk showed 3 days expired and there wasn't any protein.
