The Alegria Hotel, in the heart of the historic Bruges center, is absolutely wonderful! We had such a great time staying there. Veronique is a very attentive and knowledgeable hotelier who makes you feel right at home. The rooms are great and spacious and clean with a nice view. The breakfast, which was included, was lovely and much appreciated and we also really enjoyed the freshly squeezed orange juice and the cappuccinos! We will definitely come back and stay at the Alegria Hotel!

Fabulous place
Very friendly staff and great service. Breakfast was included in our stay and it was delicious. Rooms were spacious and clean. Waking distance to main market and all around Bruges. I would definitely stay there again.

A wonderful hotel with lovely character and a lovely lady to match- very helpful with suggestions for Bruges and it was in a lovely, easy location to walk around all the sights. A nice continental breakfast with fresh orange juice.

First Rate Hotel in central Bruges

Idyllic Bruges central hotel

Delightful
A very well situated hotel for exploring Bruges.In a very old ,what was once I would imagine a private residence.The front is a shop and the hotel is above and behind the shop,which only lends to its charm.Our bedroom was clean and comfortable with a generous sized en-suite,and it seemed newly decorated.A good choice at breakfast which included freshly squeezed orange juice.excellent coffee and fresh fruit.Madame who ran the hotel was a delight.This will be our first choice next time.

Wonderful Central Hotel
Hotel Alegria is in a wonderful location just 2 mins from the centre of Bruge. I stayed in 2 rooms and would suggest the back with the view of the old buildings is preferable, but the front of the hotel is just as comfy. The breakfast is great, and Veronique goes out of her way to make your stay a memorable one.

The owners of this 16 room hotel live onsite and treat their guests like family. When (not if) we stay there again we will opt for a larger room. Overall, a lovely experience.

Great hotel in a great location
We loved our stay at Hotel Alegria. Wish the sign for the hotel would have been at little easier to see, we drove past it twice before we saw the sign on the window. A van was parked in front of it and we could not see the writing and the traffic and people in the area make it difficult to slow down and look closely.

Great hotel, very central and convenient for all the attractions. Friendly staff, excellent breakfast which included freshly squeezed orange juice brought to your table by the owner which was a nice touch. Clean and comfortable. Given plenty of information on arrival including a loyalty type card which can give you discount in restaurants and attractions. Bike hire available from local hotel. Bus/train station 15 mins walk or 3 Euros.

Good hotel tucked away off the market square
Bruges is a beautiful city and Hotel Alegria is a perfect place to base yourself. It is a few steps to the market square and the world famous Belfry, yet it is quiet and peaceful. Our double room over-looked the small garden and the Unesco tower, amongst a higgledy piggledy selection of red tiled rooves making up a typical Brugean scene. The room was immaculate, and the owner could not have been more friendly and helpful. Breakfast was fresh bread and pastries, cheese, ham, fruit and yoghurt, delicious jam and freshly squeezed orange juice - more than enough to sustain us for a leisurely walk around the sights of the town.

Comfortable and convenient hotel.
Very welcoming and comfortable hotel just off the main market square. Hotel owner was friendly and very helpful, she provided great guidance and information. Breakfast was plentiful and fresh gluten free bread and cereal available. Nothing was too much trouble.

LOVELY HOTEL CLOSE TO SQUARE
We arrived a little early but our room was ready for us. Veronique made us feel very welcome and gave us valuable information about the local area. Our room was spotlessly clean, warm and cosy. Breakfast was varied and plenty of choice for all tastes.....could not find any fault with the Alegria On a final note our return flight home was cancelled and Veronique spent an hour with us trying to find information and a solution to our problem

Great location and lovely owners
The hotel is so close to the Markt but not noisy at night. The location is perfect for exploring the whole town on foot. Veronique was extremely welcoming, helpful and friendly. We were 3 in a room but the room was not cramped. A very comfortable stay. I will definitely stay here again next time I’m in Bruges.

Good hotel in excellent location
Thoroughly enjoyed our short stay in Bruges. The hotel is small and friendly. It is tastefully decorated and all areas are well kept. We had a small problem in our bathroom and a plumber arrived and sorted it out within 1 hour - such efficiency! Good breakfast on offer, with proprietor on hand to offer excellent service.

Fantastic hotel.
This hotel is an absolute delight. It is central, only a 2 minute walk from the market square. I was travelling solo and was made to feel very welcome. Friendly staff who were more than happy to answer my question about what to see and do. The room was beautiful, very comfortable bed. Breakfast was delicious, freshly squeezed orange juice was a perfect start to the day. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

By far best place in town
The stay was wonderful, what a nice place... I will be back! You can not match the attention to detail the owner gives to each family. She takes care of everything from food preferences all the way to coming out to the street to say goodbye when you are leaving. The entire place was supper clean and the location is excellent, just a few meters from the main attractions. More than a simple hotel visit, it really made you feel at home.... thanks

Perfect stay at the sweetest hotel
Perfect stay at the cutest hotel. Veronique was the perfect host & the location couldn't be better - on one of the little streets coming off the main market square. There was a lovely buffet breakfast with fresh juice in a pretty dining room. The bedrooms were immaculate and comfortable. Whilst there was no milk next to the kettle, Veronique gladly brought me some from the kitchen when I wanted a cup of tea. We also rented a parking space which was really useful but there was also a multi story car park next to the hotels garages if required. I would definitely recommend this hotel to friends & family and will be returning again.

Perfectly located and well run.
Hotel Algeria is hosted by a lovely woman who went out of her way to assist us. She was very welcoming and gave us some great advice on local restaurants, bars and areas of interest. The room was very spacious, characterful and very clean. Breakfast was delightful and I was in love with the hot chocolate! Perfectly located within a 60 second walk of the markt and 2 mins from the Chocolate Shop Road! The only thing that could have improved the hotel would be to have luxury toiletries and possibly bathrobes.

Super friendly staff and a great place to stay.
The location was great, but parking was a challenge. There is a garage around the corner, and we were lucky to get a place. We arrived later on a Saturday, so people were leaving the area. The hotel manager walked down to the garage and spoke with the garage attendant on our behalf. Just keep that in mind because parking can be a challenge. Our room faced the street so there was a little traffic and people noise during the night. It did not keep us awake! The location is great as it was well within walking distance from it all. The hotel was wonderful and the woman who checked us in was the daughter of the owner. So super friendly and spoke perfect English. She was great and would recommend this hotel to everyone.

Fantastic hotel with a warn welcome
This hotel was fab, underground car part next to it, located right in the centre, the owner was so friendly and helpful with what attractions to see and do, modern rooms. Definitely coming back here to stay.

Hotel is clean and centrally located. However I felt I was staying in a dorm instead of a paying guest in a hotel. We received so much instruction from the owner. She talked too much without considering that we traveled far and just wanted to go to our room and rest.

As for check in. It is true we offer information breakfast check out etc If guests look for info ( by asking things ) about Brugge we offer a map and even a reduction card on all private activities and private musea there again info is offered If guests are tired and ask us to postpone the information we do without hesitation. Some guests do not even need info as they have been in Brugge before We regret nothing was told to us at check in. Too much mosquitoes. I always travel EU but first time that I encounter that there's no AC on 3 star hotel. Veronique could have been a little friendlier.

I'm afraid that 80% of all 3 star hotels in Brugge have no AC ,( as needed only max 8 days in a year ) 4 star hotels have the EU norm to follow and have AC standard. Kindly note we have a temperate climate being close to the sea. No big heat peaks or extreem cold. So it is not really necessary Bruges is surrounded by water ( the wonderful reitjes or canals where medieval houses stand in the water trough it's beauty called the Venice of the North ) Sometimes we have a short period on which all hotels provide vans pomades sticks plugs for guests to protect from mosquitos dough not all are sensible..The wonderful side about the warmth is that having this in september walks and terraces are the most wonderful thing to do ! As soon fall will be there We really regret and hope that the offered info will clear up all misunderstanding as I assure you madam if guests prefer discreet or distant we are discreet or at distance . if guests are looking for contact we offer contact sometimes it is not easy to find out what guests want but I assure you we will keep on trying ..as we are Hotel Alegria ***

Lovely Hotel In the Heart of Brugges
Lovely, old building with updated amenities like an elevator (which was very appreciated after tugging around our large suitcases over cobblestones). The owner was so helpful and informative. She went above and beyond giving directions, suggestions, and organizing taxis and train schedules. A family run hotel just steps from the plaza and nestled into charming shops and cafes. The rooms were very clean and comfortable, the bathroom was stylish, large and beautiful. Breakfast (freshly squeezed orange juice) was plentiful and overlooked her beautiful garden courtyard.
