Great hotel in the center of Bruges

Posted May 28, 2017
Cons: I suggest adding tea/coffee facilities to the rooms.
Location: Belfry, eating in the Markt square, canal tours, Groeninge museum
I was here for one night in May 2017, and this hotel was perfect--it's in the center of town, clean, quiet (even though it was on a busy street and next to the Belfry), well priced, and friendly and helpful staff. The WiFi worked well. One thing that could be improved is to add tea/coffee making facilities to the rooms.

Nice hotel close to the square

Nice hotel close to the main square. No tea or coffee making facilities in room. Room was as would expect for 3 star. Friendly staff

Good hotel in excellent location

Super location that enabled us to walk and explore the town. Parking under the hotel was very useful. Bicycle hire was available 1 minute from the hotel. We will return......

Great location, rooms a bit small.

Posted May 8, 2017
Pros: I liked the location, it was excellent.
Cons: The size of my room was very small and the bathroom was cramped. It did make it difficult as you could only just walk round the bed.
Location: It's Bruges, there are tons of things to do. Bars, museums and the like.
I thought Martin's is in an excellent position right behind the Belfort. It's clean and breakfast was good. I felt that the room was very small. The bathroom only had a shower with a very small cubicle. It was okay, though the water pressure was excellent. The lack of a thermostatic mixer for the shower did make it a tiny bit tricky, but not a big deal, but it did make it a bit risky in getting too hot water at times as it was very hot. The breakfast was good, no complaints there. The staff were helpful enough, again that was fine.

The building on the website photo is NOT the hotel

Posted May 2, 2017
Pros: The bed was comfortable.
Cons: The website should show a picture of the hotel building, not adjacent buildings. The room could have been more spacious.
We booked this hotel because the photo featured on the website showed a beautiful old building. We were therefore surprised on arrival to find it was an unattractive modern (well, post-modern to be precise) building slapped in between beautiful mediaeval buildings. The location is excellent, but unfortunately the hotel itself rather ugly. We would not have booked the hotel if we had known it was a soulless, corporate chain hotel. The room was rather poky and small, but clean and comfortable.

Perfect location for a stay in Bruges

Posted Apr 24, 2017
Cons: As always, the local tax levied at the end of our stay was a surprise and it would have been helpful if the member of staff had mentioned this when we
We chose this hotel because of its central location immediately behind the Belfort and we weren't disappointed. You really couldn't be closer to all the main attractions of central Bruges. Despite the central location and ground floor room, we experienced little noise save for the carillon. The bathroom was clean and modern and the shower powerful. As always, the local tax levied at the end of our stay was a surprise and it would have been helpful if the member of staff had mentioned this when we checked in.

Nice hotel in center of town

Posted Apr 8, 2017
Pros: Location
Cons: Breakfast variety
Location: Town center
Very friendly front desk personnel. We stayed 3 nights. First night our room was right on noisy street and we couldn't sleep but they moved us for the last 2 nights to a quiet room. The breakfast was okay but nothing special. Very clean and comfortable bed. Great location behind the belfry in town center.

Convenient modern hotel very central to city

Posted Mar 30, 2017
Pros: See comment above. Location.
Cons: See comment above
Location: Very near the Grande Place & the Belfry, whose charming carillon does not ring all night. The streets are kept very clean & dont have lots of traffic.
Reception very helpful & charming. Building far more modern than expected. The breakfast was excellent. Room & bathroom ok BUT bang next to it is some large box of machinery, extractor fan, whatever, outside the window which operated on a 10 minute cycle during parts of the night keeping us awake or waking us up just as we had fallen to sleep ; not acceptable & though I would stay again I would insist on a room elsewhere in the hotel. In March the hotel was not full but one small lift to our floor would be a challenge in high season. Also the duvet was of a poor quality so that its contents were badly distributed in lumps. I speak good French & asked for the duvet to be very well shaken but nothing changed. Uncomfortable. A great improvement would be the addition of tea & coffee making facilities in the room, which would not add too much cost on the hotel, but be a great comfort for the many elderly visitors.

Very central hotel

Posted Mar 26, 2017
Pros: See above
Cons: Kettles in rooms
Location: Bruges is a beautiful medieval city and Martins Hotel is right in the middle of it
Nice clean modern hotel in an old building would stay again but would bring a kettle next time. No hot drinks available after breakfast. Breakfast was excellent. Rooms were night

Dear, Thank you for your nice comment. Indeed, we do not have kettles in the room available but we are seriously thinking about another solution to provide coffee/tea during the day. Kind regards,
