We stayed in The Dolma hotel over 3 nights

The Dolma was a simple hotel for somewhere to sleep at night. The mattresses need to be changed as they were very hard. Other than that the room was clean and tidy and staff were lively and accommodating.

Nice budget accommodation. Friendly staff. Renovations next door obviously annoying for the hotel but they are doing the best they can. Booked small room and it was basic but comfortable.

Good value for the money.Close to public transport

Pros: Good value for money and staff very pleasant and helpful.
Cons: Sound proofing rooms.
Location: Close to the City and all public transport very convenient for getting to and from the CBD.
Comfortable clean room however sound from other rooms and outside the Hotel was very audible and disturbed efforts to get a good nights sleep.

I found the bed very comfy for hotel standards which made for an excellent night sleep. The rooms were basic but for their affordable price I was very impressed. The lady at the front desk was exceptionally lovely.

Convenient, but loud road traffic 24/7

Pros: On bus route. Close to train. Close to Sydney Road. Japanese style restaurant next door,great coffee places nearby. Clean linen.
Cons: Double glazing, the traffic noise made it difficult to sleep. So loud we vacated to a different hotel. Interior a little dated and grubby
Location: No food service but many coffee shops nearby. Transport options along Moreland road. Close to Sydney Road.
Separate bedroom, bathroom. Combined kitchen and lounge. Lounge had 2 single beds set up and a 2 seater sofa. Round kitchen table and 4 chairs. Courtyard seemed private, but communal area for other guests, including smokers.

Thank you for your feedback. The courtyard is definitely meant for just the apartment guests, not communal at all. (Staff may enter to access the letterbox and light box only) The gate to the courtyard can be locked for complete privacy. Unfortunately the apartment is at the front of the hotel so is closest to road noise, we are sorry this caused you to change to a different hotel.

Beds are very uncomfortable, linen appeared very old and worn. Tv remote was covered with glad wrap. Curtains in room were insufficient. Maybe needs to have blockout roll down blinds as well.

Thank you for your very helpful feedback especially regarding the curtains. We are looking to replace all curtains in the near future. The tv remote control is covered with glad wrap to eliminate dirt and germs for hygiene purposes and is changed regularly. Guests can remove it if they prefer, during their stay. Was charged for 2 people though I booked for one (wasn't much extra but not the point). Site advertised 'in room bathroom' but was actually a shared bathroom - shower across the hall and toilet down the hall. Hotel said they have told the booking sites this.

It seems there was an issue with the room type booked which I cannot clarify without seeing your actual booking, but so that you know, we do have many room types, the economy room (there are only two available) are the ones with a shared bathroom, located across the hallway. I would suggest that you book a value room next time which is still low budget and does have own bathroom.

Ok... but could be better

Hotel ok...internet was off and on as I was at the back. Ladies toilet was not working. Nothing in the area and quite far from amenities.
