Close to boat show.

One of the closest major chain hotel's to downtown

Overall experience was good, although the king-size bed was on it's last legs, so to speak. It was definitely more of a "hammock" and lacked any form of support. The room was clean, large, and well appointed. Cable to the TV was analog, and therefore rather grainy and low definition.

Roach in the Bed!

Pros: I have not all satisfied with this hotel. Other than the roach in my bed. Wash Clothes Stain, Mold in sink, No Ice or Vending on floor, buts signs up.
Cons: They should have a better process for customer complaints. I'll tell the manager is not acceptable!
Location: Only visited to attend a wedding! Didn't experience other surrounding attractions.
I don't normally complain about hotels, but I draw the line when it comes to insects. I pulled back the blanket looking for my sock that came off when I was sleeping and there was a roach in the bed. I flipped out! I think roaches are the most disgusting insects ever. I know that they probably have them in every hotel, but having one in the bed with me was unacceptable. I took pictures and reported it the front desk clerk. We were told it was because they had just sprayed. We were also told that because we prepaid through Expedia that no discounts could be given. She was sorry for our experience and would be sure to let the manager know! I don't think this was acceptable method for correcting an issue!

Stayed one night in August. 3rd floor, room 322. King bed. Came into down by boat with friends for my birthday. Wanted to stay closer to town but everything was booked so we opted for this hotel. While it is a bit further away than we would like it is still a good location. Close to a nice little Irish pub. Check in was quick and easy. Girl at front desk was pleasant but didn't have much of a personality. Made it to our rooms, AC worked great, room was very large and clean. View from window was disappointing but fine. One thing to note, if you don't have a vehicle, it is very hard to get a cab or an UBER so plan ahead. This is no fault of the hotel of course, just something to know when traveling to the area. Free breakfast is always good. Waffles, sausage and eggs, coffee was decent. Checkout was easy. Overall a good experience and I would recommend to friends.

Close to Caswell beach - lovely town very quiet and relaxing. Highly recommend

Cons: Dated
Adequate facilities and breakfast. Nothing outstanding other than convenience to the highway.

The 24 hour fitness center was closed all 4 days!

At check-in only 1 staff was helping customers while 3 others with her just kept bothering her and slowing her down even more. She told me about the 24 hour fitness center and didn't tell me it was closed for repair, but it was closed all the time, looked like they were storing stuff in there. 4th floor smelled damp and room was always very humid even though a/c was on. Furniture in need of repair or replacement in room. Mattress lumpy and felt old and worn out.

Clean and friendly hotel

Booked this location in error. Thought I had booked the Wingate in Wilmington. What a great mistake it was! We fell in love with Southport because of our Wingate location. The hotel was very clean. The staff was friendly and very professional. The bed was extremely comfortable and the shower was perfect. The breakfasts that were included were hot and good. Highly recommend!!!
