Great location 5 minutes walk from Garenoord (north train station). Easy walk to Grand Place/Grote Market. Art deco hotel with history, very cool. Helpful staff. Building construction nearby makes the area a bit dirty but it was not noisy. Great breakfast buffet!

Hotel des Colonies is close to everything. Brussels Central Station and Brussels North is only few minutes walk. Close to a shopping street. The hotel is quite old but the bed is very comfortable which is more important for me. The price is very affordable. Lift isn’t working during our stay so we have to use stairs. The staff at the reception were very accommodating and helpful. The check in and check out is very quick and straightforward without complications.

The person that helped me do the check in was nice and friendly. However there was another person later when I went to ask for a hair dryer he was rude and told me there was non available but he didn’t even looked i went and asked one more time to a diff ent person and he was nice and did go and looked for one but there was non available. I also got the wrong room the restroom had no hand soap or lotion but it does say it includes toiletries. Not sure if that only regrets to the shampoo. Location was great but I will not be saying there again or recommending it.

The hotel reminded me of a hotel out of the 1920s with modern amenities. The location was perfect for my needs and easily walkable to everything i wanted to see.

Loved the unique features of the property and the historical significance. Our room was clean, comfortable and the hotel is safe. The staff were helpful and multilingual. Slight negative was that there wasn't a mini fridge in our room. The subway system in Brussels is unsafe which is not the hotel's fault. Guests should be very careful with their valuables and be weary of the people that push behind you to get through the barriers for free.

This is a charming hotel. The staff were great! Accommodating, friendly, and effective. The room was sweet, homey, large bathroom. Not the newest, most pristine facility. But a lot of character and very comfortable.

Only good about this hotel is the location. Not far from the Noord station and close to metro, shopping street. The drainer in the shower didn’t work properly, basically was flooded and took hours to drain. Carpet in the room needs a clean up. Arrived one hour before check-in and was turned away, they even didn’t look if there was a room available which any other hotel would do.

Overall a good value - clean and tidy - right next to the metro station (one stop south of the Gare du Nord). Just walk south through the shopping district about 30 min and you will find yourself in the city center - near the Grand Place

Very nice quiet place to stay. Staff was helpful, although not always at the desk, but in the back room. Issues with the electrical. The lights randomly turned on and off. Overall a good stay

After check-out I realized that I left valuables in the room. I notified reception before returning to the hotel, using the phone number available int he Expedia App. When I arrived at the hotel, my problem was resolved in a very professional, responsible, efficient, and courteous way. Amazing hotel!
Our stay was amazing! I had requested for a room with a bathtub as we were traveling for our honeymoon and they actuality upgraded us! That was so thoughtful and very much appreciated. The hotel staff was very kind and helpful as well. Highly recommend this place of you're going to be in Brussels.
