Excellent All Round

Cons: Nothing really
Location: Very close to the main shopping district of Brussel.
Beautiful hotel. Friendly and helpful staff. Lovely spacious rooms. Great value for money.

Close to centre

Only negative is overpriced breakfast. €28 per person. Other than that its a great place to stay.

Broken AC, hot and beat up room

I never write bad reviews but you need to know it's not a 5 star hotel. I don't want you to waste your money like I did. - broken AC, very hot!!!! Could not sleep until 3am until weather cooled down... - thin doors - could hear all the neighbors - no courtan or wall between bathtub - water leaks everywhere, messy - stains on 100 years old carpet - old furniture, bed was ok but the rest not - a sign in the room on the door says pretty much "if something gets stolen, you are responsible for it....."

Beautiful historic hotel, nicely located

Pros: Public rooms were beautiful and our room was old-world elegant. Conveniently located.
Cons: SERVICE
This is a gorgeous historic hotel located close to the Metro, bank ATM, and walking distance to a great dining area. We loved our room, but we had TERRIBLE service in the hotel's restaurant and breakfast room. We went to the breakfast room once and walked out after being seated, ignored, asking for service and being ignored again. The buffet is overpriced anyway. Skip it and go to Paul, right down the street, for fabulous coffee, pastry, and savory delicacies.

Close to the town center

Really nice place to stay. Close to everything. The only but is that is construction site right in front of it but I'm pretty sure that as soon is done it will be a great street.

Great location, beautiful building. The elevator was a time piece in itself. Extremely close to shops, sights and restaurants.

Shame about the Air Con

Good wifi but at 15€ was expensive. The air con system in the room was a law unto itself and staff showed little understanding of how it worked. Breakfast was ok but uninspiring. However staff were only too ready to be of assistance

A single and a double rooms

Pros: Spacious rooms and nice looking bathrooms. I loved the fact there were two sinks in the bathroom, and in the double room the toilet was separate.
Cons: Rooms are not soundproof and need renovations. It is not enough clean. For five star hotel there were no bathrobes and slippers; bottle openers.
Location: The Grand Place is a 5 minutes walking distance. Museums, galleries, lovely restaurants and shops are very close to the place.
My family and I went to Brussels for the week end (29 April - 1 May). The first surprise was that there was a construction work going on in front of the hotel, in fact the whole square was a mess. In the room there was a note warning about the possible noise accompanied with earplugs. As we were for the week end only, there was no construction work going on but annoyingly enough there was a noise from some other source. So sadly, the rooms are not soundproof. We asked to change the room and from 3rd floor went to 5th floor. It was better there. The next thing is for a five star hotel there were no bathrobes or slippers, and the cleanliness wasn't superb. There were toothpaste marks left from previous visitors on the sink; dirt around the drain. Overall, it is an old hotel and it is obvious when you are there. From the photos you can't get the real impression as everything looks shiny on them. The rooms need renovations. I didn't see the carpets shown on the photos anywhere in the hotel. The good side is that rooms are spacious.

Good central location

Pros: It was central
Cons: Rooms require modernisation. Better lighting.
Location: Good location, near tourist area.
Had a lovely time. Really enjoyed the Tin tin museum.
