Despite the hotel has a beautiful indoor pool the water was cold. Its a pity since I chose this hotel mainly for the hot indoor pool and the location. The rest was good as expected

A scaled-back operation from what it was some years ago (the dining area is noticeably smaller, there's no jacuzzi at the pool area any more and the swimming pool area could do with a make-over), this is nonetheless still my favourite hotel and it's a pleasure to stay here. I hope to be back very soon!

Excellent hotel near the European Parliament and close to shopping and dining. Swimming pool is also excellent. Francisco at the Front Desk was especially helpful to me.

Old but convenient to train station
receptionist was wonderful. But the tv didn’t work. So I walked down stairs and asked for someone to come look at it at 2:30pm. No one came. I asked the cleaning service to see if the remote needed batteries and they said it wasn’t their job. . At 10pm I called again. No one came. At 11:39 I fixed the tv myself just as a guy in a black suit showed up to help. I was there only 1 night. Also, we are a tech world and there were no chargeing stations. Very inconvenient to plug phone by the bathroom 5 feet away.

Location is quite good. Centre is about a 20 min walk. The check in process was terrible. From the time that we arrived at the hotel to us checking in, parking, and then talking luggage up to the room it took an hour. Directions to the underground parking were not given clearly. No porter services or help was provided despite us asking for help as we had a lot of luggage. On the day we were checking out we were in fact told to just use the Porter trolley ourselves. The hotel building itself is ok and the location isn’t bad. But due to the experience we received from the staff we will not be returning to this hotel.

It is an OK hotel but definitely needs to renew the facilities, the water in the shower would not drain, water itself was either hot or cold, nothing in between. There is a constant queue at the reception as well not sure what is causing it but anything you need you will have to wait.

I certainly recognize that a quality shower sets the tone for a great start of the day and I regret this was not the case on your last visit. While this is in no way an excuse, please be informed that we are currently replacing all our water flow pipes in the building to balance the water pressure and are in the midst of replacing the shower mixer to improve the hot and cold-water flow in the shower and provide a greater shower experience to our guests. Please bear with us as we conduct this important project, along with other enhancements in our guestrooms. I hope this will bring you comfort and re-assurance that we are working towards improving our guests stay and experience. Pertaining to your comment about the room condition and the need for a refurbishment, since I have joined the hotel couple of months ago, I certainly recognize that there is a need for an upgrade. As such, I am pleased to share that we are currently working on a refurbishment plan for all the guestrooms. This project was unfortunately delayed due to the pandemic, as we completed the renovation of the lobby, the restaurant and the public spaces in 2019 and the next step was to renovate the rooms. Nevertheless, we are currently working with our Marriott Design team to develop a new model room laying the foundation of the new look & feel of our Renaissance Brussel guestrooms before kicking-off the renovation and bringing our hotel aligned with the latest generation of Renaissance hotels. We are also working on the lighting enhancement plan, the change of bathroom fixture, SMART TV's and guestroom entertainment, improvement of lighting control and power outlet next to the bedside table, furniture and more. As such plans always take time, please bear with us as we progress through this project. Scaffolding outside the hotel and no mention of it on the website or even on check in. When we went to our room, our window had scaffolding outside. Work men started at 8am banging... when we complained they did not do anything, they just said they had complaints from other guests also. Staff didnt care. Pool area is a disgrace, mould everywhere and not pleasent. It is such a shame this hotel could be a great hptel.

Lovely hotel, terrible restaurant
The hotel it's was lovely. The rooms where really big and looked a lot more nicer than I thought it was going to be for the price. Staff where friend, and the pool was a bonus. The only downside was the Poet restaurant, absolutely awful customer service and actually rude. We went down for a coffee mid morning and the stuff said there was no need to book for our meal in the evening for our dad's 70th birthday. When we arrived in the evening a lady who claimed to be the owner of the poet restaurant stated that we had to make a reservation which we told her we where informed the opposite. She was really rude saying it, and there was clearly tables free. She made zero effort to be helpful. She could see we have a 1 year old and 2 year old and was out rude and even stated 'well I'm the owner and I'm telling you'. It was a freezing day and we wanted to stay it. DO NOT GOT TO THE RESTAURANT, its also over priced for what it is. A shame as the restaurant let the hotel down.

Disappointed that there were was no access to stairs to get to your room, as only 1 lift was working and it took forever to get to and from your room. Staff were not that helpful when asking where the stairs were, and siad they had to be 'unlocked' to be used?? What would happen in an emergency? No note on broken lifts either. The plug points in the bedroom were all in the wrong place, and it was a faff to find the best place to plug in the kettle. Also no milk for tea, only powered stuff. For a 4 star hotel disappointing.

I sincerely empathize with your feeling and apologize for the cumbersome stay. While I may not be able to take away your negative feeling on this occasion, allow me to transparently share that as the hotel is located just steps away from the European Parliament, the safety and security of our guests is of paramount importance for us. As such, every access to the staircase from the guest floor to the lobby is open. However, the access from the lobby to the guest floor is restricted with key card access for our guest's safety. However, should our guests wish to access their floors by staircase, after verification of their identity, we do allow the access through the staircases. I noticed that on this occasion, the guest lift was not operating. After further investigation, I understand that this was due to a faulty card ready inside of the elevator which we are currently awaiting our supplier to replace to avoid further inconvenience to our guests. Nonetheless, we do have 2 card reader in every elevator in order to ensure that, should there be an issue with one reader, the second is usable. I regret if this was not properly communicated to you on this occasion leading to your disappointment.Pertaining to the electrical points, I fully appreciate your feeling. Allow me to transparently share that we are currently working on an enhancement plan for all our guestrooms, including lighting, bedding, new smart TV and guestroom entertainment, bathroom fixtures, furniture and more in order to improve our guest experience. As such project always take time, please bear with us as we are developing a model room before rolling out to all the rooms in the near future.I hope this will bring you comfort and re-assurance that your feedback matters to me. perfect for a business travel
My first experience with this hotel is very good, a perfect location and view from my 5th floor. Very kind personnel, nice, well decorated and equiped Reception hall. Room and bathroom were clean and daily services of maintainance were professional provided.

Excellent hotel near the EU Headquarters complex. Friendly and helpful staff. Nice pool. A bit expensive but then so is all of Brussels.

Disappointing time after time
They could no locate our check in when we arrived. Two staff members gave conflicting information. It took over 30 minutes to check us in and there was confusion over payment when we had already paid in advance. Was then advised that the pool was open until 10pm. Finally got to the room and got ready to go for a swim. When arrived on the level of the pool. All facilities were locked up. Enquired again at the front desk and was informed by a different member of staff that the pool closed at 8pm on weekends and has been the case for years. When pushed further they said the previous staff member was the supervisor and should have known better. When checking out, they mixed up my details with a previous customer and printed their home address and email on my receipt, clearly GDPR was no concern. As they issued a further receipt with another customer’s private address. Disappointing service overall and rooms were also of a certain era in much need of refreshing. The toilet in my room would also not stop flushing, but by that point I’d given up on any hope of getting appropriate service.

We loved our stay at this hotel. It’s very clean, the staff were friendly and helpful. Our rooms were quite, clean and modern. I would definitely stay again. Can’t fault it. Oh and the food is delicious from the restaurant
