Horrible Stay

Posted Aug 20, 2015
This place was a last resort and we checked-in after the normal time of 5 p.m., but the owner kept us waiting for a long time at the door while she pulled the reservation down. She was not apologetic about keeping us waiting and wasn't even very kind. Then when we got to the room, it had notes everywhere that said they would charge us extra fees (i.e. don't get makeup or any other stains on the towels or we will charge you $25) We felt like we were staying in a room, but we were not supposed to leave any evidence of our stay. When you are staying with kids, sometimes the towels get stained. They should try a little bleach and a smile to get a better rating.

Nice accommodations close to Bryce

Posted Aug 19, 2015
Cons: Better pillows.
A very nice man checked us in without problem and offered suggestions for where to eat in town. Our cabin was a duplex- but there were no issues with this setup. It was also closest to the road- but also, not an issue as the windows on the cabin are excellent so noise was not a problem. The interior was very clean and well maintained- if not recently remodeled they are doing an excellent job in taking care of it. There was an air conditioner, which we didn't use as the fan was fine to keep the room comfortable at night. This is a log cabin, not the Ritz, so it is a little rustic, but charming. There is gravel outside in the drive. The cabins in the other section do back up to a beautiful view and are separate. We were really only in the cabin to sleep and shower, spending the day out at Bryce or the other local parks so the exterior amenities weren't a concern- though a bbq was available for our use. Tropic is a really cute little town with good food and really friendly people. If we'd stayed in Bryce or one of the hotels right outside the park, we would have missed several nice parks that are past where you turn off to go to Bryce.

Tropic is a great place to stay!

Bryce Country cabins is a quaint out of the way place. The room was clean and basic Tropic is a quiet place to relax. The Pizza place down the street was great! If you are looking for all the amenities this is not your place. But if you just want to relax away from the crowds this is your place.

Motel NOT a cabin near Bryce National Park

Posted Jul 2, 2015
Pros: Location--only about 10-15 minute beautiful drive to Bryce Canyon Park. Very clean and good housekeeping.
Cons: Landscaping the front (Plants and some greenspace would help for a better view from the porch) Closet space Truthful advertising as a motel
Location: Bryce Canyon!!!
Bryce Country Cabins was a bit of a disappointment for us. Our cabin, advertised as a "Premium Cabin" was, in fact, a tiny motel-like room. There were no photos of "Premium Cabins" on the website, so it was a bit of a gamble. We had thought there would be a little kitchenette, but there is only a refrigerator and microwave. Perhaps that was my mistake for not researching better, but really, this is just a motel room right on the highway. In our case, the cabin has no landscaping around it. The grassy lawn that is pictured on the website is actually separated from these "cabin" by some other private property. In front of our room was only a gravel parking area and one planter that held a dead plant. Then the highway. I'd also encourage a few housekeeping items such as a few dishes and bowls. There is a grill on the front porch, but no utensils or plates from which to eat. We were told when we asked about this, that people buy their own eating utensils. I guess that means paper and plastic. The room is very small--no closets, very little room to move around. A few amenities would improve things a lot. Actual cups for the coffeemaker (not styrofoam ones) and some closet space to allow for unpacking as the room is VERY small. And just a bit of generosity would help a lot. And also some landscaping, so one could better enjoy the front porch. On the positive side, the housekeeping was excellent. The room and bathroom were very clean and well kept.

Stayed two nights; clean and comfortable! Cabins are easy to find because they are on the main highway! Therefore, traffic noise a bit of an issue. Air conditioned which is necessary in the summer.

Quite place to stay while visiting Bryce

Posted Jun 26, 2015
Pros: Comfortable, clean and close to Bryce National Park entrance
Location: Tropic is a very small town and there was very few businesses other than restaurants and hotel/cabin rentals.
My husband arrived very late 11:30 but we were checking in without an issue with the ring of the door bell. We did find it odd that staff is not availed during the day until check in at 3:00 but assistance was not needed so no concerns The cabin was spacious, clean and well appointed and less than 20 minutes from Bryce National Park entrance gate.
