Comfortable and Clean

The Olympic lodge was comfortable and clean. The staff was wonderful! We really enjoyed the opportunity to use the modern health club. The accommodations are rather Frugal, but they don't pretend to be anything else. Note - the beds are comfortable but rather soft.

NO room avaiable despite confrimation of booking

Pros: Good location and price
Cons: No duplication of bookings and if they do then they should find an alternative place fro the guest and pay any increased costs.
Location: In Aylesbury and easy to get to
On arrival for a 2 night stay we were advised that there was not a room avaiable for the second night despite confirmaiton of our booking by Expedia. The staff were not willing or able to assist with finding us an alternative and the Manager also was not willing to given us any compensation towards the increased cost of an alternative venue at short notice. If we had been staying for one night and arrived late I am not sure whether we would have found any other rooms avaiable to stay in. They were not sorry at all fro taking double bookings and did nothing at all to assist us with their error. Also the one night we did stay the TV in the room did not work at all. I would not recommend anyone to stay.

Pros: The staff
Cons: The manager of the gym. He is a small man with short dark hair.
Location: Dunno as it was a stop over.
the staff were brilliant and facilities were great. The only problem I had was the manager of the gym. I was running with my son and he said my son was not allowed on the machines.because of his age. Which is fine until I mentioned if my son could stay with me and watch for a bit. My son was not allowed to even stay !!!! He was just a prat !!!

Cons: Invest in wireless internet, double beds, and aircon.
Check in was extremely slow, even though there was only one person ahead of me - receptionist had no sense of urgency whatsoever, though I will say that when it came my turn they were both polite and courteous. The rooms are all twin, from what I understand, no doubles are available. However, I sound the beds to be bigger than the standard single. The rooms themselves are very large, well presented and clean. I was disappointed to find that the internet in my room was not connected. I understood that there was supposed to be wired internet in every room. Regardless, even if it had worked, the wire wouldnt have reached either of the twin beds, and to use it one would have had to sit at the desk provided in a chair that frankly was barely wide enough for me to sit in. I was there on business and spend 9 hours a day sat upright at a desk, and like to skype my family whilst relaxing on my bed in the evenings when staying at hotels. This wouldnt have been possible. Further, though my stay was not in the middle of the summer (I stayed there in September) the room was very hot and uncomfortable to sleep in in the evenings. I checked but found the radiators to be off, and there was no aircon. I had to sleep in the bed next to the window, with the curtains and window open just to get some air. This meant that I was getting noise from the car park and was woken earlier that I would have wanted to wake.
