stayed several times before on this visit the tv was broken and on advising recption we were asked what we were going to do ? Reversing that question and putting it straight back to hotel staff then eventually the room was changed. gave a stale taste if honest as was uncomfortable

Does what it says on the tin. Can recommend!
The room was small but clean, comfortable and came with a kettle, fridge and microwave as well as a tv. En-suite shower and toilet. Clearly designed for people staying away for work in the week. There is nothing fancy or pretentious here. This former 1930's built pub does what it says on the tin. We needed an emergency overnight with two small dogs in tow! Did the job, staff were helpful (there is a small charge per dog). Would stay here again.

A good comfortable stay at a very reasonable price
Room was quite small but most importantly the bed was really comfortable and enabled a good night's sleep. Bathroom was clean and shower had good pressure. Only gripe might be the thinness of the pillows. I needed three.

Tiny room, looked like it needed a lot of redecorating. (Scuff marks on walls, windowsill paint flaking off, shower smelt of damp, old TV antenna hanging loose from behind wall-mounted TV, other end of old antenna was masking taped to socket as connector broke, TV barely had bed reception for the basic 15 channel free view it had) Bed had 3 old, flat pillows. when asked for more/replacement pillows was told that as the hotel was full the owner couldn’t get any more for us, despite it looking as if someone had done exactly that to ours! Building had narrow claustrophobic stairways, all flooring looked like laminate in hallways, so very noisy. Left before staying first night, will not be returning.

Great value, get what you pay for. Cheap and the staff look after you. Located in a busy pub so expect noise but perfect to crash in!

Football away trip!
Simple and basic hotel but got everything you need, I arrived late on the night of check in and it was quiet and easy to get checked in. Close to City Centre and also Adams Park which is where I needed to be the next day for a 12:30 KO so the 10:30 check out time was ideal as I had my car with me anyway.

Short walk to food places (plenty of variety) and shopping mall/cinema. Good location. Room was fine, nice and warm, it was great for the price and had free parking. My only complaint would be that you can hear people passing the room and the landing door opening and closing.

This was perfect for 1 person staying over for business. No frills but comfortable. The only odd thing was the almost complete lack of drawers or shelves in the room. Also, there was a coat rack with no hangers.

Great little stay
We had a 1 night stay at the Wendover staff were great room was comfortable a little bit noisy from outside but that cant be helped. Overall a good stay clean and tidy disappointed there was no breakfast option available.

Reasonable price, some road noise
Check in easy at bar, registered car for parking and given direction to room. All good. The room was basic, but clean. Bed could have been better, but was fine. Water wasnt the hottest in shower, but all in all this place was good value for money. We ate en route, but there was food available which other guests were quick to recommend.

We and the couple that arrived immediately after us were sent to an alternative hotel on A40. No apologies and from the size of the alternative hotel cards at reception it is evident that this is a regular occurrence. There was no apology or explanation from the hotel staff. Buckingham hotel was still under construction. You couldn't get in and out of the car park without someone running to reception to ask to lift the barrier as there is no intercom. Room was very dusty, bed extremely uncomfortable and there was previous guests' dirt left in the bathroom sink.

Plenty of parking, some parts of which were very muddy. Room very clean. No curtains only Venetian blinds which let the light in, which included the bright neon sign outside! No lock on inside of door, someone entered my room at 2am and didn't say anything but it obviously woke me up and they just left. Rang the number off the email I had and was told (after they looked at cctv) it was a member of staff but couldn't offer an explanation as to why they entered my room. Very odd and unnerving. A comfy chair to sit on would be nice.

Lovely host in a lovely location. I would just ask for lock on the door for security although I can say that people who live and stay here are very trustworthy. Absolutely superb breakfast

Cheap hotel but needs updated
The room smelt a little bit mouldy/damp, which I think was from the bathroom. When showering in the morning I was unable to shower as the water was too hot, no matter which way the knob was turner, the water was boiling, I actually burnt my hand checking it. When I told this to the receptionist upon leaving he said oh you need to turn the knob and press the button. I explained I did that several times and turned the shower on and off and left it running. He simply shrugged his shoulders and gave no explanation or apology. Very disappointing service, considering the check in was so pleasant.
