Meditative atmosphere in the heart of BudapestPosted Oct 21, 2015
Pros: The zen-like atmosphere. The corner suite that looked down onto the shopping plaza below. The staff
Cons: The funky smell at the end of the hallway outside our room.
Location: In the heart of Budapest (Pest - side) one block from the white bridge that spans the Danube. Strolling along the Danube.
This tranquil setting was just what we needed following a whirlwind 7 day river cruise along the Danube river. As soon as you enter the lobby you realize this isn't your regular hotel. The zen-like atmosphere immediately puts you in a relaxing frame of mind. The color scheme is black and red. We stayed in a corner suite (rm#426) with ample room. The bathtub measured 6' x 6' and was enough to keep us out of the spa. We were tempted to forego our 2 days of sight seeing in Budapest and just enjoy the room. Along with our suite came a daily breakfast that was tasty. The staff at the hotel and restaurant were extremely helpful and attentive to our needs.

Buddha Bar Hotel - BudapestPosted Oct 13, 2015
The hotel was lovely, the rooms were tastefully designed and decorated. We had booked a superior room, but was upgraded to a Junior Suite as I had advised the hotel before travel that this trip was a birthday treat for my partner. Whilst the room was lovely, it was quite dusty in places but that was the only negative. Our only disappointment was with the hotel staff as we had booked a restaurant reservation for the Saturday night in person on the Friday before.. The 'young girl' who took the booking wrote down our reservation advised that she would pass on the reservation. This we felt was a bit odd, and it wasn't until we checked when the restaurant was open the next day that we found that we were not booked in. Having complained, we were advised that they could 'squeeze us in' for the time we wanted. This was not ideal and did leave us a little disappointed. Having said that, the meal and waitress service were excellent. I booked a 55 minute massage for my partner in the hotel spa, which she said was really relaxing and would recommend. Overall a lovely hotel despite the restaurant reservation frustration.

Very romanticPosted Sep 22, 2015
Fabulous long weekend in Budapest. Room was quiet, comfortable, and romantic (although the lovely waterfall shower did tend to flood the bathroom). Staff were friendly and helpful. Great location too - very handy for all the sights. Would unreservedly recommend.

ImpressivePosted Sep 20, 2015
I've been meaning to write a great long review. But back to reality, don't really have the time. To sum it up! Honest! Amazing! Gorgeous! Luxurious! Wonderful! They upgraded our room to a 2 floor penthouse. The room was absolutely gorgeous! The room amenities were delicious! I left my new purse when I checked out. They made it so easy and shipped me the bag bAck to NYC. It cost a fortune, but in their defense I checked the price. It was expensive. They were honest and attentive. The entire hotel experience was wonderful and I highly recommend it!

Great Location and SafePosted Sep 12, 2015
Pros: Close to many bars, bistros, cafes and shops. Never felt threatened. Staff very accommodating and eager to assist. Bedding was excellent.
Cons: Hotel could use more lighting in the rooms and on the floors. We had our first meal at the hotel and it was lacking. We did not dine there again.
Location: Again, as much touristy things to do as you might want. Interesting city, lots of food and beverage choices that we really enjoyed.
Went as tourists and Budapest is a very nice city that I would return to. People were kind, English was spoken in enough places and by enough people to get by nicely. Not an expensive place at all. We had our late teen kids and everyone had a very nice time. City around hotel is very clean and well maintained. If we return we would consider staying at Budda Bar again or a hotel in that immediate vicinity near the river and Vaci Street. Incredibly picturesque. In one week we saw the Keleti train station migration episode (about 3-4 miles away), Hare Krishnas dancing and singing joyously through the streets (which was odd at first but then after a day or two we missed them!) and a very loud parade of nationalist young men surrounded by police ready for anything, all chanting and singing, perhaps as a response to the migrants. This was about a mile from the hotel but still downtown. The hot spring bath / spas are an experience as well and I would return. As an American I felt very welcome. People on the street were from throughout Europe for the most part. Germans, Austrians, French, Brits and some Irish.

Great hotel right where you want to be.Posted Sep 10, 2015
Fantail from start to finish. Perfect service, perfect room, perfect food. I'm amazed it was as cheap as it was, I wouldn't have thought I could afford to stay somewhere like this but it was so reasonable! We will be coming back and I can't recommend it enough.

Super Design-hotel, zentral gelegenPosted Aug 31, 2015
Pros: Das Zimmer war genial, groß, super designed, super schöne Badezimmer
Cons: Parkplatzsituation.

Fantastic location for a city break!Posted Aug 26, 2015
An excellent place to stay for a city break as the staff couldn't have been more helpful! Organised booking entrance into places for us, helped us with directions and even dinner reservations. The room was stunning and we were upgraded! The rooms are of very high quality. Perfect location too for buses, trams, metro or walking to Buda and Pest!
