Budapest hotel far away from downtown actionPosted Sep 18, 2016
Pros: Nothing. Hotel is old and tired and it shows everywhere
Cons: Too many things to mention, elevator badly damaged, NONE of the room doors hinge open effortlessly
Location: Poor location, NOTHING to do nearby. Bus then subway connection to center city very complex. Taxi ride 4,000 Hft or 15
Unpleasant experience, check in counter is disorganized, elevator is badly damaged, Internet works only intermittendly, Hallway not clean, room door opens with old fashion key, hard to open, rubs heavy on carpet. Door frame loose, need to lock door from inside with same key. Closet doors do not work, safe is mechanical and complex to run. Room not clean, empty bottles from prior guest still in cupboard. Very small TV, cable fro airco hanging from ceiling. Walk out to big communal balcony, doors here too are difficult to open and close.Furniture in room +/- 30 years old. a dump.

Good but too far away from town centrePosted Aug 20, 2015 on Hotels
The hotel was clean and comfortable. However, it was really far away from town centre and the neighbourhood is not briant. The breakfast is not the best I ever had neither.
don't choose this hotel unless you have to!Posted Aug 17, 2015 on Hotels
The personnel were helpful and did their best to help. The location is not good. there are almost nothing around in the vicinity. no restaurants etc. So I had to eat at the hotels restaurant and the food was horrible. really horrible! My room was smelling cigarette. it felt like someone had smoked there for years! I will not go back there again.

For all who knows Fawlty TowersPosted Aug 11, 2015 on Hotels
We have been greeted with a glass of cold drink, then a receptionist explained that this evening there is a wedding party at the hotel and, as a gesture of apology, he handed us a bottle of champagne. Most of the staff speak very good English, one of them looks like Basil Fawlty from Fawlty Towers. He does. Be very careful with the garage, it has very steep entrance, and there is little space to reverse the car.
