Convenient location, affordable

Posted Oct 1, 2016 on Hotels
Furniture/deco outdated, gloomy both in the lounge and in the rooms. Daily cleaning OK but corners/toilet brush are dirty. Last year the sofa had big stains as well as the wall. Not enough choice for breakfast and no kettle/tea/coffee in the room. You get these for the same rate in the UK. So you don't get value for the money. Staff is OK though only spoke with them when checking in.

Reasonable Hotel

Posted Oct 20, 2015 on Hotels
Hotel is located in a residential area. We did get noises at night time. Hotel joined the twin beds against our requirement of a double bed. Wish basic item like Kettle was provided in the Room which is generally available in most of the 2 or 3 star hotels. We had also to make payment towards exit tax.

Hot time in Budapest

Posted Aug 25, 2015 on Hotels
Paid extra for air-conditioning and it wasn't working. Breakfast was poor but coffee was decent. In an area close to lots of restaurants, cafes and shops. Should say that it is close to the metro station as we came in to a train station across town and had trouble finding it.

Great for a business stay

Pros: The staff were very pleasant! Could borrow umbrella for a few days in a row when unexpected storm hit the city.
Cons: Breakfast
Location: Metro is 5 min walk, and city centre about 20minutes walk. Some local bars, cafes, massage places are nearby. The river side is just 10 minutes away.
The hotel is in a good location, 15-20 min walk to reach the city centre. The room size was good with comfortable bed and the ac, free wifi included. The shower was good, nothing to complain about. Breakfast was continental: white bread rolls with a choice of cheese, some deli meats and a few veggies. Alternatively, there was a selection of some cereals. Went for a hotel breakfast on the first morning and then decided that getting it from the outside was a much satisfying idea.

Good location, cheap and cheerful!

Hotel Thomas is an extremely well located hotel within easy reach of the city centre. It is very good value for what we paid but I couldn't describe it as luxurious in any way and the breakfast provided is limited. The building itself could do with an update but it is hardly surprising the owners have little to invest in renovations as the rates are so reasonable. Would recommend if you are looking for a well located hotel on a budget.
