Ok hotel not sure it is a true 4 star hotel. Restaurant menu not very extensive, breakfast variety is ok. Had to report a non working light that was fixed but the mess left by maintenance was not cleaned up.

Nice hotel but beware of hotel tax

Great staff hotel with shopping centre 5min away. 10 min from tube. Tram next to hotel! I had bag stolen before we arrived in hotel and staff was helpful police wasn't! All so be nice for Expedia to mention hotel tax! Which shocked me on departure!

Front desk staff needs some attitude adjustment

The staff at this hotel could do a little bit more training when it come to customer service. I booked the hotel last minute and arrived in the wee hours of the morning. Upon arrival, the front desk staff was right off the bat condescending and very rude who didn't have a problem telling me that check in is at 2 pm in a very sarcastic tone. I knew very well that check in was at 2 pm, I just so happened to arrive very very late for my check in (3 am) which was already the next day. The exchange with the staff certainly made me feel like I was an intruder in the hotel rather than a paying guest. One would expect better service from a chain hotel like Novotel, however, it seems like that doesn't exist here.

Lessons to be learned.

The Novotel wasn't the worst hotel that I ever stayed in. GOOD. The hotel breakfast and other meals were OK. Good location and we took the 8E and 112 bus into the city. We had weekly travel passes which covered bus,metro,trains and trams and the pass cost approximately 13 pounds for the week.Good shopping centre called MOM which is 2 minutes from hotel. Good swimming pool and sauna. BAD. The hotel could have been cleaner. It was a bit dusty in parts and a few stains in parts of the room.We came back to the hotel to get an early night. When we got there we were not allowed to go to are room.Next door there was building work and they had found a Wold War 2 bomb. We had to wait for four hours in cramped reception area and there was no information from hotel staff or security. The reception and other areas were packed with hotel guests. Nobody allowed to go to their room or leave the hotel. The hotel should have made announcements and provided tea/coffee for the guests. They did provide water and orange juice but since the building next door belong to Novotel it would have been the least they could have done. There were not enough seats. I am sure that a lot of plans made by most of the guests were disrupted. OVERALL. Decent hotel and in a good location.

Quiet, comfortable and convenient accommodation

Courteous staff, quiet and comfortable accommodation with on-site parking available (12 Euros per day). A very thoughtful package of a range of tourist activities in Budapest was given upon arrival. Inclusion of details re Budapest public transport would have been useful.
