I may have had a bad room, but it was very tired. Apparently the shower flooded out into the hallway more than once, as the boards were shortened and warped. A lot of the issues in the room were simply because the initial design and construction done years (if not decades) ago were so poor. A big portion of the shower basin is just silicone caulk, showing multiple efforts to repair what was never done well in the first place. The bed was fine, as were the lobby and breakfast. Value for money was fine, but it wasn't exceptional for this hotel compared to others nearby.

Soho came through when our first option, an Airbnb, did not. We were very appreciative to get a room. The room was clean, quiet, and the hotel itself was close to everything. The staff at the front were hospitable, knowledgeable, warm, and welcoming. The bar was the same with even better prices. We appreciated all the pro-tips for food around the corner and groceries. We'd love to come back!

BE CAREFUL, DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME AND LOOSE THE JOY OF THIS BEAUTIFUL CITY OF BUDAPEST, THIS PLACE CAN’T BE EVEN A 1 STAR HOTEL. The rooms are not clean, the beds smell smoke, the toiled has spots on it, the laminate floors are all scratched and too old, the washroom door is swelled from bottom and needs replacement maybe 10 years a go, the bed cover at the side where you put your legs are dirty. My advice just be careful and don’t come close to this weird place.

An excellent hotel. The breakfast is great. The rooms are clean and pleasant. The beds are comfortable. A large and comfortable shower. First time in this hotel but it is clear to me that from now on this is my hotel in Budapest.

Four stars should look different in current hotel settings. The room looked so much better on the pictures online- in reality it felt like 2010 at best. We had a broken couch in our room and visible left out spots when it comes to cleaning. The staff was ok but little attitude around the edges. They literally have 5 spots for parking and you are supposed to book your space which was told nowhere on expedia and luckily we could park in a nearby parking house that had great accommodating staff. I highly recommend calling your hotel prior arriving by car about parking. We have been traveling around EU and almost every place had a catch when it comes to parking - even if you filter out ONLY parking options. The hotel is located in an amazing area and that made it worth the below average - so called 4 stars. I’m glad it was only one night though.

Staff were amazing they couldn’t be more helpful. Just a shame about the room, our door was really difficult to close and open, meaning we left it unlocked all night due to fear of not getting out in an emergency, due to being there for the F1 weekend we were not able to change rooms to one with a working door, we had to have help getting into our room on one occasion as we did not want to break it, but the member of staff was very helpful and apologised about not being able to swap. The room also a little dated and not like those on the website. As we were there for the F1 we just needed it for one night to sleep and it did it’s job.

Great Value Central Hotel
We enjoyed our stay at Soho. We received an upgrade at checking and our room was spacious and well appointed. Breakfast included was fine and staff helpful and overall I would have no hesitation in recommending Soho, especially for value. Very central and front desk can arrange bookings, taxis etc. Good for short breaks.

Unit was very nice and modern. No problems. I had asked the front desk for authentic restaurant recommendations and was told to dine at the locations probably partnered with them. I was looking to get more of a local’s opinion on where to fully embrace their culture. That was probably my only gripe. Good unit for the price.

A fantastic location to the city with quick and easy access routes. The breakfast was plentiful and fresh! The receptionists were very helpful and happily answer any questions. I would have rated the hotel 10/10 however when they would not turn on the air conditioning so that you could actually get some sleep it falls dramatically. I understand that when you live in the country the hot weather isn’t so hot as you are used to it but the hotel should cater for its travellers who find the heat too much!

Great location for the nightlife. Plenty of pubs, clubs and restaurants near. Also 24 hour shop opposite where you can get snacks, beer and cigarettes if needed. The shower did leak as other reviews stated but it's no issue...you're in Budspest enjoy the place..use a free towel to wipe it up. The lift was slightly noisy from our room but after plenty of beers it made no issue. The staff were friendly. Would stay again. Room was quite small but we got for a great price so no issue. The only thing for some people is that you can see into the shower and to the toilet from the bedroom..may be an issue for some new couples who aren't comfy with each other yet.

A pleasant little gem...
A very nice, well located, modern and accessible hotel, right in the center of Budapest and close to all amenities. Initially they put me on the first floor, a ni e and clean room I must say, but very dark and claustrophobic... Didn't like at all. Also, the shower is very tiny and minimalistic... I could not use it at ease, especially considering my disability. After a short rest, I set the TV on... Nothing was working... Nada.... So, I went to reception and asked them if I could change the room. I explain it was too dark and a room in a higher floor will be better. One of the receptionist who seems to be the supervisor kept moaning about my request. I then mention the TV problem. The second guy went to the room to check it. He came back and confirm the TV was off. He arranged then to move me to a room on the 7th floor. I liked it better though the shower room did not suit. I enjoyed my two days and 2 nights there. I also enjoyed their very pleasant breakfast, continental plus, though too noisy at the back kitchen, with staff laughing & talking loud, gossiping I am sure... Especially the first day. 2nd day, only guys were staffing the breakfast room. It was wonderfully quite & pleasant to enjoy our breakfast at last...
