Good base for exploring Budapest

Posted Mar 21, 2017
Pros: I felt I was getting real value for money, staying in a safe area just 10 minutes form the Danube by metro.
Cons: Frankly nothing. The staff speak several languages including English and are welcoming. The decor is pleasant and the hotel spotlessly clean.
Location: The Oktogon metro station is a short walk away. There is a supermarket on the main street and even a good vegetarian restaurant a few minutes away.
This is my second visit to this hotel because it is good value for money, clean and friendly as well as convenient for exploring on foot or using the nearby Oktogon metro station. The rooms are simple but have everything you need. The staff are extremely pleasant and helpful. Breakfast - this was extra on my tariff - had everything you could reasonably want. There was some early morning noise on the corridor with people returning from bars but this can happen in any hotel. Generally speaking my room was quiet and relaxing.

Great value for a very reasonable price point!

The hotel is located near many great bars and restaurants, and within walking distance of the St.Stephens Basilica, as well as a live music concert venue. Though the amenities in the room are minimal, there is ample storage space, and the cleanliness is held to a high standard. Would definitely recommend / stay here again!

Moderrn, stylish hotel in central Budapest

Posted Dec 17, 2016 on Ebookers
Pros: Cleanliness, friendly staff, modern rooms, good breakfast
Cons: Would have liked tea and coffee making facilities in my room, but maybe that's just a British thing!
Location: About a 10 minute walk from Oktogon, where you'll find the Franz Liszt Academy and a short walk or metro ride away, the Opera and Heroes Square
Pleasantly surprised with the quality of this hotel and the value for money. Lovely clean, modern rooms and a good breakfast, just a short walk from tram and metro hub at Oktogon.

Satisfactory hotel

Posted Oct 2, 2016
Although the road the hotel is found down is a bit rough-and-ready, it is otherwise a very good location, seemingly midway between parliament and other attractions closer to the Danube in Pest to one side, and the Terror House and main park (including Heroes Square) in the opposite direction. Otherwise the hotel ticks the boxes in terms of requirements: cleanliness and basic facilities. The staff were generally pleasant and helpful, and the toiletries provided were also appreciated. It would have been better if breakfast was included. The hotel does the job with providing the essentials, but not a lot to make it stand out

Comfortable Hotel - Walking Distance to Everything

Posted Sep 21, 2016
Pros: Front desk staff, comfortable room, nice bathroom, clean and in a very central location.
Cons: Breakfast! Fair selection of food and a nice room however a staff member watched people like a hawk and made me feel very uncomfortable.
Location: Budapest had much to offer and most tourist attractions are in walking distance from the hotel.
Very nice front desk hotel staff. Friendly, helped with booking excursions, airport transfers, giving directions to locations, wakeup calls and general knowledge about the area. The cleaning people asked every day what I wanted done with my room and were also very accommodating. The only downside was the breakfast room. The add-on fee was costly and most of the food was what I considered luncheon, not breakfast. So, for $12.00 I would have a cup of coffee, a small container of yogurt and four tablespoons of cereal. One day, I took a piece of bread and four slices of cheese to have in my room later in the day. I was publicly confronted by a woman who watches everyone like a hawk. She accused me of stealing food which was very embarrassing. I explained to her that I have medical problems and can only eat small amounts of food at any given time. When I left the room, she took time to show me a large sign saying you cannot take food out of the breakfast room. From that day on, I felt very uncomfortable every morning at breakfast. The situation could have been handled more discretely. I could have pointed out fifteen people who had not only eaten a four course breakfast but also taken other food items to snack on later in the day, but did not want them to have the same experience I had. The next morning, I put food on my tray and asked her if that was too much to eat. She said, "no, you should eat more". Half of the food on the tray was eaten later in the day.

Pros: location near historic centre of town
Cons: no safe in room, provide face cloths - North American visitors are used to that convenience
Location: close to historic town centre and walking distance to Parliament building and Danube River
immediate area around hotel a bit run down but within few steps to historic town centre, overall a pleasant one-night stay.
