First, the bedroom does not contain a queen-sized bed as advertised. The bed is a double bed, (smaller than a queen) and the very cramped bed definitely affected our rest. Also, the owner recently completely changed the property--it used to be the large second-floor space that was rented, but no longer. The many reviews that rave about this place are talking about the UPSTAIRS, which is now fully owner-occupied. The space we rented was a small, dark, apartment on the lower level. Why should the property owner be able to keep reviews about a space he no longer rents? The owner has also not updated his other materials. The final sentence in the email he sent me said to knock on his door DOWNSTAIRS if we needed anything. That lead me to believe we had rented the upstairs. In addition, there was no coffee maker the first night we were there, and my partner can not function without coffee. One appeared on our doorstep the second night. The kitchenette is tiny, with very few electrical outlets. There is a nice toaster provided, but no place to plug it in without playing appliance roulette. There was lots of silverware--except for regular-sized spoons (teaspoons), of which there were two. The shower is also extremely small and God help you if you have wide shoulders. The owner spoke one-sentence to us the entire three nights we were there. He was not friendly, and never welcomed us or offered to answer any questions. But the small bed size as well as the confusion about whether we were renting the upstairs or the downstairs really ruined it for us.
