Nice hotel, but a few structural issues

Posted Jul 18, 2016
Pros: The area is full of nice restaurants and bars and one beautiful bookshop, and you are close to the main Palermo attractions
Cons: They should spend more in hotel structure. Is is completely wrong that they would accept a host without checking the heating, specially during winter
Location: As I said above, many bars, restaurants and a nice bookshop
It as a good experience, the location is fantastic and the staff is great too, always ready to solve the problems. The main issue is that a lot of the hotel facilities lack efficiency. For example, I had to change rooms because my heating was not working _in the middle of the winter, and they did not check this before accepting a host in that room. Apart from that, there were problems with the telephone, the shower (no hot water as well) and doors not working good too. Sound isolation is poor and you listen to other rooms. You get the impression that the hotel works with a lot of improvisation and not very much professionalism. Breakfast is nice, in a nice room with very good staff and many options. Own Hotel is pretty much like the average kind of "hotel boutique" you can find in Palermo, with few exceptions: they are charming and beautiful, you think you are in a pleasant place, but soon you understand a lot of small things do not work well, because it was made in a hurry with not very good material. They are in the right path, but still there is a lot of improvement that is urgently needed if they want to beat its rivals in the area. I also think all hotels in Palermo Hollywood are should do more to try to keep the streets around it safe and clean. They are not, and this is clearly a situation in which the hotels and restaurants united can put some pressure on local authorities. I would stay there again, but I think they can do better, because they have good will and staff

Decent location

Posted Jan 3, 2016
Pros: Front Desk staff very helpful though only staffed by one person.
Cons: Air conditioning.
Decent location however there was a lot of dog doo on Cabrera street we had to constantly dodge....but to be fair, that is a problem almost everywhere in BA... the air conditioning only partially worked in our room so we were still a bit uncomfortable as it was miserably close to 40 degrees and super humid outside. It was still way too warm for us in the hotel room. Not much of a lobby with mostly just the reception desk and the breakfast area. Too hot in the lobby as well. Hotel room was nice and large though very modern (concrete).

Good hotel in Suburb

Posted Feb 2, 2015
Pros: Small intimate feel & friendly staff with good english
Cons: Paint the ceilings! An outside sitting area would be nice, but cannot think where it could be.
Location: In Palermo suburb, so for all city attractions we needed cabs. ( my wife has a limited walking range). But for others subway in easy reach.
A taxi ride from centre of BA, but a nice suburb with plenty of restaurants. Excellent friendly staff. Spacious room, good en-s shower room in boutique style ( bare concrete ceiling a bit odd for us). Good a/c but you will still notice some traffic noise if at the front of hotel. good wifi with specific router for each floor. Stayed three nights. Good continental breakfast. Despite advert of NY style cocktail bar, no customers except us on one evening.

The hotel is close to many good restaurants and a short walk from Palermo Soho, which has nice shopping and restaurants as well. About 10 blocks from the D Subte line, which gets you to the center of the city and doesn't feel like that long of a walk.

Cute, tidy hotel in a big city

Posted Oct 13, 2014
Pros: Quiet hotel. Staff spoke English (and other languages) and were very helpful e.g would order taxis.
Cons: The sink drains need a clean out- the room was a little smelly.
Location: Many restaurants near by, no shopping centres or tourist sites.
I underestimated the size of Buenos Aires and needed to catch a cab everywhere. Things looked closer on the map! Taxi were cheap. Restaurants for dinner are open 9pm-12midnight. Hotel is in a restaurant hub. People were friendly. A lot of people with speak alittle English. Breakfast was included- very simple, croissant, toast, fruit, cereal but really didn't need anymore. There isn't a restaurant/cafe on site. The hotel is unable to exchange any money.

Palermo Hollywood Gem

Posted Jun 17, 2014
Pros: Rooms - comfortable beds, modern, spacious Staff & service - friendly, helpful, fun Breakfast - good variety, coffee Location - Palermo Hollywood
Cons: - better mirror placement in the bathrooms?
Location: Shopping - Palermo SOHO; Restaurants, bars and coffee shops - everywhere; Attractions - near and far
OWN Palermo Hollywood is a gem. Staff is super helpful. Location is great. When coming to Buenos Aires Palermo is the place to stay, and this hotel provides an excellent base from which to explore the city and to return to great restaurants, cafes, bars, art and shopping. Rooms are modern, spacious, clean (good WiFi). Beds are really comfortable. Bathroom clean and modern. Facility is a boutique 16 room hotel - very relaxed atmosphere with a small bar and lounge to relax in or get a coffee. Breakfast was great, and will bring to your room if you are feeling lazy. All told, great experience and made Buenos Aires stay even that more memorable.
