Excellent location in downtown with best value and services. 10 minutes walk to shopping, theaters, restaurants, subway, and 1 block from main retail street (Av. Corrientes = 42nd St in NYC) for taking taxi.

The place looks modern,clean and nice the elevator is super tiny though, the phone was not working but the worst part is that they hide the laundry fees, sent clothes for laundry service and the amount charged was outrageous, when I commented this to the front desk staff they laughed on my face. Will never come back here or recommend this hotel to anyone.

Adequate room, good price and great location.
The hotel was neat but not as well kept as it could have been. There were some broken items in the room, particularly the bathroom. It all worked but it was just not top form.

Great location
Very nice hotel, but had some maintenance issue, only one elevator working and internet reception was limited. Great front desk. Employees were ALL very helpful and understanding. They make up for a few inconveniences

Nice Centrally Located hotel
The Staff were very good and accommodating for anything they could handle. The room would not rate any higher than 3 stars in the US, but would rate 4 in the EU. Breakfast was good (but not included as we found out later). Internet was HORRIBLE! They really need to upgrade so as to allow for their customers to continue to handle business while on vacation. The only time I got a good signal was in the hotel lobby. If you dont care about internet then dont be afraid to stay here.

Terrible service
I had a terrible experience with the hotel. I went to B.A running an Ironman and booked a room at this hotel. On arriving at 2 AM I was informed that there was a problem at the hotel and that there was no room available for me, and that they would accommodate me at another hotel. The hotel they sent me was a dump! Old, dirty and stinking! I agreed to stay in the hotel because I was very tired and needed to sleep. I do not recommend it at all! I paid for a good, beautiful and expensive hotel and went to a dump.

Clean and comfortable
Centrally located, next to the pedestrian street Lavalle. Rooms are clean, everything works from Wifi to A/C. no problems. We got a great price for a few days. Not sure you can find similar hotels in other major cities around the world at this price. We were happy with our stay.

Excellent hotel. Recommended.
Friendly staff and good service (bathrooms cleaned and beds changed daily). Toilet was blocked on one occasion but this was seen to very quickly. Some dust on surfaces in room and wifi was slow. Option to leave luggage on day of departure was very useful (and free). Would definitely recommend and stay again.

Good hotel in B.A.
Located in the microcentro, the streets may be dirty, but the hotel is an oasis. Our 3rd time in Buenos Aires, and compared to other similar priced hotels, this hotel is one of the better ones. Keep in mind "most" hotels in BA have small elevators, old A/C, and old furnitures, so the Rochester is similar but our room is slightly bigger and everything is functional. The air conditioning unit maybe noisy, which is the only downside of this hotel in my mind. Overall, a very pleasant stay in Buenos Aires for a few days.

Great stay in Buenos Aires
This hotel was an ideal choice for our stay in Buenos Aires. It is located just off Lavalle and a short distance from the Avenida 9 de Julio and the stately Teatro Colón . The room was very comfortable and relatively quiet. The bathroom was a bit small, but the bathtub included a safety bar for easy access to and from the shower. The Rochester Classic offers a full buffet breakfast and free Wifi. This hotel is highly recommended for its amenities, friendly staff and for its reasonable rates.

Better than expected and convenience
Before I went there, I checked the street view on google, and felt that I was quite a sketchy street. Once I got there, I learned I was completely wrong. The buildings nearby just look old, that's all. This hotel is just 2 blocks away from the Obelisk and on the small narrow road which is very safe for walking because there are a lot less traffic than the main road. Restaurants are abundant, and from salad bars to high end places and mostly on the next block which is only for pedestrians, no cars. Walking to the Casa Rosada area is just about 10 minutes. I didn't book my room with breakfast because I wasn't sure if I had enough time for it, but then I decided to have it. The cost was about the same as if I paid in advance, no surprise, kudos for that. During my stay I had some difficulty with my tour, the lady at the front desk was really helpful, and spent enough time for me to finally got through to the right person and nailed it down to get the tour to pick me up eventually.

Very very pleased with this hotel. Will stay again
Loved this hotel. The staff was excellent, the breakfast acceptable, the room comfortable, the staff actually did speak enough English for me to manage and the hotel was ridiculously convenient. The obelisk was in walking distance, taxis were easy to come by, there was tons of shopping and food options in the neighborhood, overall I was very pleased. I will stay here again if I am in this part of the city again.

Good location ,WI FI has a charge 5.60 dollars per day, instructions are given to set up the WI FI but is very complicated to get into the signal and is a weak signal.It is the only hotel of all my traveling in the world that charges daily for WI FI service

It was Ok, I was assigned to a room with very small bathroom , very small shower , I could not take a good shower , because it was not enough space to turn. The other inconvenience was the WI FI, there is a charge of $ 5.65 per day for using WI FI in the room , at the desk a piece a paper is giving with the username and password but not well explained to set up a working WIFI ,although WI FI is free in the Lobby ,but we need WI FI mostly the room ,

Nice hotel but the road outside is closed
The hotel & staff where fine had a few problems with their limited English, buy I guess I am the outsider! Main issue was the road outside it was closed of with only a poor foot path no taxi access! you will have to carry your bags down the road. Friday night some sort of party outside until 4:30 am the road diggers started at 7:30. Breakfast was fine although they tried to charge me after I had pre paid.

Tired but OK Classic
Comfortable but tired old style - 'classic' fits well! Reverse-cycle air-con covered by curtains so had to improvise with chair to get cool air. No electric jug for coffee/tea but mini-bar with basic drinks. Couldn't find tea/coffee in lobby. Tiny bathroom clean and adequate for 1 night. Breakfast to 11 am - excellent range and quality of food, nice ambiance! No-one told us about other meal options; great choices in street and around the corner. Easy to get to from EZE / AEP using TiendaLeon bus and shuttle but not so easy to leave using same as the reception staff's English was severely lacking and they "didn't know" about the service. No offer of airport shuttle - seemed only able to order a cab / remise. Bellhop Leonardo was excellent - good English, very helpful. Further from Aerparque than it looks on the map, allow at least 45 minutes to get there!

Comfortable Place
I was very satisfied with this hotel. Overall I would recomend it. I liked the rooms, stylish and clean and had everything a touris needs. Nice little gym for an extra and stylish compact lobby. Good breakfast an lunch. For cons i'd say that wifi is only in the lobby and in room for a fee. For people on a budget this would be uncomfortable. The curtain was blocking the air-con. Receptionists need to know english better.

Great Central hotel
A reasonably priced and centrally located hotel. Good gym. Excellent breakfast. We could walk to most sites. Only downside was the tiny room. We're small people and we found the room a tad claustrophobic.

The hotel has excellent from desk staff, hotel well located and the room service was excellent. My only suggestion still about internet , although now they give a password to use the 2 computers on the lobby. It will be better to provide WI-FI ,becase it is more useful anytime compared the 2 computers always used by someone or sometimes was working only, Otherwise every thing was very good .

We stayed in the Rochester for 3 nights on our first venture to Buenos Aires. The hotel is very nice, with clean rooms and good bathrooms. As well as this, they were very reasonably priced. The main negatives are the staff, who are generally unhappy,don't really smile or say good morning, as well as this they are not proactive within promoting the many tourist attractions of BA. The Rochester is a nice hotel if you planning a short stay and know where you are going and what you want to do. Unfortunately, you will have to pay for the use of WiFi in this hotel. In this day and age, I really don't think that customers should have to do this. Lastly, bare in mind that you can get an all round better deal elsewhere, a hotel with free WiFi and breakfast. We checked out after our 3 night stay, not unhappy, just thinking we could get a better deal elsewhere. We chose to stay in a hotel nearby in the Recoleta area. It was the same price, with free WiFi, buffet breakfast and very helpful staff.

Worth the money
This is not a 5 star hotel, taking that out of the way let's just say it's only a few dollars more per night than the cheapest hotels you can find (hostels not included) and orders of magnitude better. This property is in the sweet spot were you get the most out of your dough in my humble opinion. Cheaper has drawbacks(sometimes BIG) and more expensive is just for luxury or convenience. In the end if you'll spend your time outside what you want from the hotel is a nice clean bed, a comfy and hot shower and hearty food(or nearby restaurant). The breakfast was NICE, there were chefs cooking omelettes, pancackes, etc and a very varied menu. Very nice experience overall.

Great value hotel
Simply awesome hotel. From the breakfast buffet to the room decor and comfort of bed and shower. There has to be some cons though and the pickiest things are thin walls - like to hear the staff chat in the hall ways or vacuum - well you can. The ac is one of the terribly old and inefficient models banned most places due to the noise. Luckily when it's on it acts as white noise blocking the hallway noise. It's also hidden in external window behind the block out curtains which means if you shut the curtains it doesn't work. Decisions decisions - privacy or ac. Last minor point - they are still charging for Internet. 49 peso or about $6 a night per 24 hours which for me was about 15% of my daily rate!. Even backpackers hostels give it away for free. Great quality on the rest - friendly helpful staff - I would still come back at the right price.

Great central location in city
Good location for the main visitor points in BA. This review wants more stuff before I can submit which is annoying. it's a 3 star hotel and does exactly what it says on the tin.

The last few days before going home
The front desk staff is fantastic. The "business center" is 2 computers, only one worked and not very well. I rec'd 1 hr free but cost after that. Staff and information in English, but no English channel on TV (a little news would be nice after gone for a month). Quiet and efficient and good price for simple hotel. Not wheel-chair friendly. No free wifi would be a deal breaker for many. Breakfast was good.

I liked my experience here. The staff was really nice, the room was clean and the location is great, except at night it can be a bit sketchy.
