Never again at a Holiday Inn or affiliate!

We traveled overnight from Seattle, landed in Rochester and traveled to Buffalo to play golf with friends, have dinner and attend Riverdance at Shea's. My wife called enroute from Rochester at 11am regarding check in time. She was told it was 3pm. When she asked about an early checkin in the hotel person told her she needed to call and request one. She was perplexed because that is what she was doing. The person was no help. When we arrived at the hotel it was difficult to find the entrance and had to go around the block several times until we realized it was on the backside of the hotel. Needless to say there were only about 15 spaces for the entire complex. It was 1pm on s Thursday so we assumed it would be no issue getting an early check in so I pulled into the drop off area. I entered and gave the hotel attendant my reservation and asked him if my room was ready. He said "check in is at 3pm" I said I didn't ask you what time check in was but rather if my room was ready. He again replied "check in is 3pm. Figuring an early check in was out of the question policy at this hotel I asked if that was the only parking lot for the hotel. We were going to have to resort of cleaning up in the bathroom and changing our clothes to play golf. I was then informed that we had to travel to Pearl Street to park and walk back. I told the guy forget it and to cancel our reservation. Apparently we were still charged
