Great 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom suite...Posted Nov 1, 2015
Pros: Size of suite - hard to find 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom suite.
Cons: Lots! Rooms need to be fine tuned. Look a little shabby.
Location: Walking distance to stadium, 716, waterfront & theatres. Easy drive to Buffalo General. 15 minute, easy drive to Walden Galleria Mall, Target, etc
Layout & size of suite was great, full kitchen a plus. Room was disappointing in that many details need tending...paint chips, draperies not hanging right, lighting poor in bathroom. Cleanliness okay but found previous guests Invisilign tooth guard in tub and room didn't smell "fresh." Hallways smell awful...like mold and elevator threshholds look filthy...first thing you notice getting in/out. Noisy HVAC fan in bedroom made for difficulty falling asleep. Staff are generally good although don't seem well versed when asking for restaurant recommendations and even for basic directions. Got the feeling they did their job but didn't reach for anything more than that. I had an awful experience at the Pan American Bar on the main floor. Bartender behavior was out, and out disgusting. She would have been walked to the door if she worked for me. Notwithstanding the above, the hotel suited our purposes well. I would only return if I needed 2 beds/2 baths for extended period of time.

Trying hard to bring back old Buffalo charm.Posted Nov 1, 2015
Pros: Central location. Retro feel of old-time Buffalo.
Cons: Mattress comfort was horrible.
Location: Tour the downtown and Theatre districts.
Central locale. Helpful staff. Only issue was an uncomfortable mattress.

It was the little thingsPosted Sep 29, 2015
While this hotel aspires to high end, attention to detail falls short: burned out ceiling bulb, inoperative fireplace, room service that closed before its stated hours and an unadvertised $20 "valet" parking fee. Also desk staff was unwelcoming.

dark and depressingPosted Sep 19, 2015
Pros: We wanted to experience downtown Buffalo. This hotel was certainly located close to everything.
Cons: LIGHTING... and the breakfast and the morning atmosphere.
Location: The free tram is available one street over to go to canal side (a fantastic addition to the area!) ships, submarine, naval museum and gorgeous sunset!
The hotel was built in 1901 for the PanAm games. The decor attempts to recreate that era. Dark grey and mauve color pallet with black and white 'time capsule' full wall mural. Dark corridors with carpets imitating a "threadbare" look? Minimal to non existent wall art. Originally given an inner room (with a view of an inner courtyard floor) were upgraded to be able to see daylight (much appreciated). First room had updated bathroom (but the water saving toilet ran for 10 minutes before shutting off) Second room's tub/shower glass panels were stuck open. Complimentary breakfast was awful (brown orange juice and rock hard scrambled eggs). Staff was wonderful in every way!! Overall impression of the hotel was dark and depressing but amazing we discovered and enjoyed the original architectural details - wood and huge glorious windows (in the back that no one used?) my suggestions.. move breakfast to the back....put some upbeat morning music on.. and fresh orange juice ..and china cups for tea/coffee..and LIGHTS!!!

This will be by hotel of choice next time!Posted Aug 28, 2015 on Hotels
My daughter and I stayed here for a few days before she moved into her dorm at Buffalo State. I was quite impressed by the room as it felt like I was at home because of the coziness and the Art Deco decore. The bathroom was very big. The staff was very accommodating and helpful. I will definitely stay here again.

Art Deco style hotel in downtown BuffaloPosted Aug 24, 2015
Pros: The Deco furnishings, the location, easy walking distance to get around central part of Buffalo and access to rail line to other neighbourhoods.
Location: central location, easy walk to Buffalo Harbor and Canal side development-transit line one street over. Close to Coca-Cola field.
Enjoyed the hotel, only complaint was I booked a King room and ended up with a Queen because the King's were sold-out. My room faced into the side of another part of the hotel, thus I had no natural light coming into the room, which made it feel dark even with the sun was shining outside. The rate included buffet style breakfast which was okay, but eggs were cold.
