Find another hotel

Posted Nov 18, 2015
Pros: It wasn't expensive (but by no means cheap either). The location seemed secure.
Cons: Staff attitudes, cleanliness, quit accepting the fact that people smoke (both marijuana and cigarettes) in the rooms.
Location: The location seemed safe and clean. Not sure about what to do nearby, as we were just there catch some sleep a move on.
We arrived at 11pm, and had to present IDs (wouldn't accept a military ID) before they'd let us in the lobby. However as we were checking in, some hoodlum was let right in without having to produce an ID. He said he was there to visit room 117 which will become significant here shortly. We were given two rooms. First was ok. AC sounded like a dying cat and there was still coffee in the pot. The other room smelled like an ashtray (it's a non-smoking hotel). Went back to the desk and told them the room smelled like smoke. They treated us like we were lying and responded only by saying "this is a non-smoking hotel," then staring at us as if that statement proved we were wrong. When we insisted they give us another room, they had a staff member go "verify" the smell. He came back and verified the smell, at which time the lady behind the desk said, "yeah, we had that room specifically cleaned because of the smoke smell." We were then reassigned to room 118. As soon as we got near room 117 we could smell the odor of burnt marijuana/air freshener, and hear incoherent utterances that high people frequently say. I couldn't smell pot in my room so I chose to ignore the fact. All night I could hear people being loud (and high/drunk) in the courtyard. Breakfast was worse than Army chow and cold to boot. Went to check out and I made a comment about the people in 117 having a "good time," and the attendant just laughed and said "yeah" as if it was a regular occurrence and no big deal.

I actually never went thru. The environment seemed a bit old fashioned , room wasn't ready & their rules were like I was renting it.

I will never stay here again. It looks nice from the outside. Inside it looks like it is one step away from being an hourly hotel for the local workers if you know what I mean. Look at the rooms before deciding on one because the others were dirty with gum n straws on the headboard crumbs everywhere by the bed. Just poorly cleaned overall. Half the desk staff is rude and incompetent. Was told different rental rates then what was posted on the building. The breakfast is all Microwaved and taste like plastic. Horrible. Do not stay here if you do just know you pay for what you get.

Great Value

Posted Oct 20, 2015
Pros: It was in the area we wanted to be in, was quiet, clean and comfortable.
Location: There is a movie theater within walking distance and a shopping and resturant area within 1 mile.
We have stayed in several hotels over the past 20 years. For the money, this was the best value by far. The free breakfast was a plus. Room was clean and spacious, a single king size bed, table and chair, and plenty of room for a loveseat or club chair. Lobby and cafe were well laid out and inviting. While there is not a pool it you need a place to sleep and grab a light breakfast or lunch this is the place. Food was good, but the facilities only allow for reheating pre-prepared food, it was served hot and tasty.

I am glad you enjoyed your return trip with us. So far the green space we put in when we removed the pool has been a big hit as has the Café. I hope you will continue to stay with us as we will be adding more changes in the future.

Thank you for the kind words you sent about the staff. So few people take the time to write when they have had a positive experience, it means a lot to them to hear they are doing a good job. I hope you will stay with us the next time you are in our area.

I am very sorry you had a bad experience with us. We are a smoke free property and we do not allow anyone to smoke in our building, so I really regret that another guest did not follow the rules and this affected your stay. I hope the next time you are in town you will give us another chance.

What You Expect For The Price......

Posted Sep 14, 2015 on Hotels
Just stayed for one night while in town for a business seminar. It's what you expect from a 2-star hotel; minimum frills but functional. Its an older hotel but they are renovating the interior. Some parts were well-worn, others like the lobby looked better. They neglected to have shampoo/soap in the bathroom when I arrived. But this was a minor thing and the staff remedied it immediately. Was able to work/read in peace and quiet. The staff was friendly, pleasant and always willing to help. Nice job, guys.......

Thank you for your input as well as understanding about the overlooking of the shampoo and soap. I hope you will stay with us again in the future as even more upgrades are done to the property.

Everything was great except for the breakfast. A small portion of eggs and two pieces of paper thin strips of bacon was not a good breakfast!

Thank you for your input. I will discuss your concerns with the Café staff as all breakfasts are supposed to be two eggs, two pieces of bacon or sausage links, biscuits (with or without gravy) or toast or two pancakes as well as 8oz of orange juice and of course coffee or tea. There should be no reason for anyone to not be full from any of the breakfast choices. I hope you will stay with us again and give our breakfast another chance.
